"Will you give her some space to breathe!"
"Move."
"She's moving around.."
All these voices only added to the pounding in Gabriella's skull as she slowly opened her eyes. She could tell she was back in the Cullen house. Jasper moved over when he saw her eyes open. "Hey, darlin..you feeling okay?"
"What happened? Where are those three?" She asked, looking around. Jasper gently took her face in his hands to make her look at him, sending a calming wave over her.
"I'm sorry...this wasn't supposed to happen.." she could hear the waver in his voice.
Gabriella looked at him, then at the others. "What happened?" She asked, her voice barely over a whisper.
Jasper swallowed hard, almost as if he didn't want to tell her. "James..he caught Bella's scent." Her blood ran cold at this, but what he said next was worse. "Victoria..the red head, she was almost hyperfocused on you.."
"We think you're her bloodsinger..." Carlisle added in. Gabriella had remembered Jasper telling her all about bloodsingers, hearing she was one, it terrified her.
"Hey, it's okay." Jasper made her look back at him. "We're going to take care of it." When she met his gaze, she saw such determination in them.
"We'll lead them away with your scent while we take you two in the opposite direction." Alice chimed in.
Gabriella shook her head as she ran her hands through her hair. "What about my dad? I can't let my dad get hurt because of me.."
"We have a plan for that. You go home to Charlie, you tell him that Bella is trying to go back to Phoenix and that you're going to try to stop her. Tell him whatever you have to in order to keep him from following after you, okay?" Edward spoke up.
Gabriella stared af him for a moment as she let that sink into her brain. "You want me to break my dad's heart?"
"We wouldn't be asking if it wasn't complete necessary for his survival in this." Alice chimed in.
Gabriella shook her head. "No. Absolutely not, I refuse to break my dad's heart..."
"He's my dad too, Gabby, he'll be-" "I said, no! You do not get to come here after all this time of avoiding our dad and decide you know best!" Gabriella shouted after she had interrupted Bella. "You didn't see how...how heartbroken he was every. Single. Time. You refused to visit. My mother and I were the ones keeping him sane because you were too selfish to see him!!" By the end of it, tears were running down her face, and she was breathing heavily.
Everyone else stood there in silence, not sure what to say. Alice wrapped her arm around Gabriella's shoulders as she led her into the house to sit down. "I'm sorry.." Alice whispered to her as she had Gabriella sit on the couch. "You're right. We can come up with something else to tell Charlie." She assured her friend. Alice hated to see Gabriella in pain like that. Soon, Jasper had joined the two of them, sitting on the other side of Gabriella.
"I'm sorry that I even allowed the others to even suggest that." He spoke in such a soft and sincere tone.
Gabriella could only nod, her emotions and thoughts all seemed to be swirling around at her at once. "I'll figure something out to tell him." She assured them as she stood up from the couch. The two followed behind her as she walked back out to the garage. "Come on, we need to get this done before James or Victoria attack dad because they're impatient." She felt almost dead inside as she looked at her sister. How could Bella be so heartless? To tell someone that loved her so much that she was just leaving him. All those years of pent-up rage towards her half sister all seemed to come flooding out.
Not even Edward could predict it as Gabriella suddenly jumped on Bella, hitting her while she cried. Jasper and Alice both had grabbed her after the first punch, dragging Gabriella off.
Bella sat up, holding her bleeding nose and lip. "What the hell was that for, you psycho?"
