Heading out of Sokovia, The Avengers were on a jet back home to New York, to the Avenger Tower. Tony was behind the wheel and Allie was watching him steer a moment before she got up and walked over to Banner. She frowned a bit, not realizing he was listening to music in his earphones to calm him down, but he took them out so he could talk to her anyway.
Around them, Natasha and Steve were standing together, hovering over Barton, who was in a med bed in the middle of the jet. The two were awfully closer than one usually should. Thor had his hands on his hips, watching Barton while Triston and Lidianna stood together in the corner.
Allie sat in front of Banner, a small smile on her, "The lullaby worked better than ever," she said and Banner slightly nodded.
"Just wasn't expecting Code Green," he said.
"If you hadn't been there, there would've been double the casualties," Allie said, trying to reassure him, "My mom's best friend would've been a treasured memory."
"You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear," Banner said and Allie slightly frowned, staring at him intently.
"How long until you trust us?" She asked and he gave her a sympathetic look.
"It's not you I don't trust, Allie," he softly said.
She fumbled with her hands a bit until she said, "Thor, repot on the Hulk?"
Thor turned their way with a delighted smile, "The gates of Hel are filled with the screams of his victims," he said but from the supersoldier's slow turning look, and when Banner groaned in despair, Thor dropped his smile, "Uh, but, not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no, uh...wounded screams, mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, and uh...and gout."
Allie grumbled under her breath while Thor's relatives stared at him almost embarrassed from their little corner. She opened her mouth to speak when she noticed her parents. A small shocked expression came upon her when she saw their hands very close together, almost holding hands, but yet — they were both holding back.
She turned her attention away from them when Tony called out to Banner from the cockpit, "Hey Banner, Dr. Cho's on her way in from Seoul, is it okay if she sets up in your lab?" He asked.
"Uh, yeah, she knows her way around," Banner said before he looked back at the shy Allie, a very rare occasion for the girl.
"Thanks," Tony said before quietly speaking to JARVIS, "Tell her to prep everything. Barton's gonna need the full treatment."
"Very good sir."
"Jarvis, take the wheel," Tony said as he seat backed up and he got up from it.
"Yes, sir — approach vector is locked."
The Stark walked up over Lidianna, who was intently staring at the scepter, and from the glimmer in her eyes, it was like she was in a painful memory. And it seemed he was the only one who had noticed. Thor, Triston, Steve, and even Natasha were standing with her, staring at the scepter, but no one noticed the painful look in her eyes. If he only knew what the memory exactly was...the last one she had with her father...
"NO!"
"LOKI!"
"Father—"
"See you in Hell, monster."
"No, no, no — Damn you fool. You didn't listen."
"I know — I know — I'm a fool, I'm a fool."
