A few months later, Emma found herself in the passenger seat of her father's sportscar, staring out the window of the multiple trees passing by when they finally came upon a large facility in the middle of an area – trees surrounding it. It had a large 'A' plastered on the wall as quinjets landed in a back area. Emma had heard about the new Avengers facility being built in upstate New York, but she had yet to place her eyes on the fully built building yet. She was absolutely amazed, and could only imagine how much more roomy the facility was compared to the tower. However, she did almost the like the notion that she was stuck up in a tower, though she complained about it a lot.
Unlike her father, the first thing Emma did was not go into the facility, to immediately be swarmed by agents or scientists or experts; but the grounds. Out in the back, in a secluded area was a single grave;
PIETRO DJANGO MAXIMOFF
Son Brother Avenger
February 10, 1989 - May 20, 2015Standing before the grave, was a bright blonde girl in blue jeans and a blue flannel. Emma stood a foot behind her, off to the side so she could stare at the grave as well. She hadn't seen the girl since the funeral, "I didn't get to tell him," Allie softly said, her voice low and raspy. She turned back to face the confused Emma, "He died before I was able to tell him that I loved him too..."
"He knew," Emma nodded and Allie caught her assured eyes, "Sometimes...you don't have to say anything at all. Sometimes...the eyes tell you everything you need to know," the golden blonde glanced from the grave to Allie's light blue eyes and smiled, "He definitely knew."
Allie wanted to smile. But she couldn't bring herself to. So Emma gestured for her to take her arm and she did before the two began to head towards the facility, "Let's go say goodbye to Lidianna," the golden blonde said.
Inside the facility, in a large empty hall, Allie found herself standing by herself again. Emma went to go find Lidianna and the other Asgardians when the bright-haired girl got a message on her phone. She pulled it up to find it was a video Natasha sent her. A video sent from The Barton's, of the new addition of the family. A little baby smiling, wearing a onesie that said; Nathaniel Pietro Barton.
Only then did the girl smile, before seeing that Natasha sent a text message in reply to the video she sent: "Fat"
Allie playfully rolled her eyes before someone walked into the room; an African American man with an eyepatch, "One of our tech boys flagged this, splashed down in the Banda Sea," Fury said as Allie looked back at him. He handed her a tablet where a map, with a small blinking light on it, "Could be the Quinjet. But with Stark's stealth tech, we still can't track the damn thing."
"Yeah," Allie murmured.
"Probably jumped out and swam to Fiji," Fury said and she looked up at him, "He'll send a postcard."
"Sure," Allie said before eyeing him, "Did you know this would happen when you recruited him?"
"You never know," Fury told her, "You hope for the best and make do with what you get. I got a great team."
Allie hesitantly nodded with a sad smile on her, "Nothing's forever," she said.
He frowned at her before placing his hand on her shoulder, a way of comforting her before saying, "Trouble, Miss Rodgers...no matter who wins or loses, trouble still comes around."
He then turned to leave and Allie looked back at him, "Romanoff Rodgers," she corrected, causing him to turn back at her again, a confused expression on him, "It's Romanoff Rodgers, sir."
