Chapter 6 | Coincidences

After reading and signing all the necessary papers and after talking a little more with Jeff about what was expected of me in the performance of my duties, we go to the studio where all the people I will be working with are.

When Jeff opens the door, I see a person I never expected to find there and I yell: "SARAH!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?".

She turns around suddenly and sees me, comes running to me, and hugs me, "Harmony! I can't believe you're the one coming to work with us!".

"Calm down! With you?", I ask confused, and look around. That's when I see Mitch and come to a conclusion, which has only now become obvious. "Mitch! Hi! OMG! When did «I have a band with my boyfriend» become «My band works for Harry Styles»?", I ask in disbelief.

"Do you guys know each other?", asks Harry very surprised.

"Sorry Harmony... I know I haven't been completely honest with you, but it's really hard to tell if friendships are real when you start your introduction with «Hello, I'm Sarah and I'm friends with Harry Styles»", she says with an apologetic smile, and honestly, I didn't even need her to apologize because the second she started to explain, I knew right away why she hadn't told me anything. After all, she doesn't know me that well.

"Friends, am I the only one who is very confused?", asks Harry again, interrupting our moment.

"Sorry H. I met Harmony the other day when we bumped into each other in the park and coincidentally ran into each other again at the club when I was with Mitch. In fact, it was the day we went out with you to that club you like a lot! Harmony and I became friends right away and, by the way, we even arranged a dinner for this Friday", explained Sarah.

"Oh wow! Fantastic! So, it looks like I'm the one who's the latest in getting to know you! But this way, it looks like your integration will be a lot easier", says Harry with a smile that makes his dimple appear. "Mitch will almost always be with us because he brings me a lot of inspiration. Sarah comes less often, but if she is your source of inspiration, I feel that we can all make an effort to deal with her!", he continues and everyone else laughs, except for Sarah who complains to him and forces him to say how much he likes her.

"H, I told Harmony that you were going to tell her a little bit about the creative process and how you had planned to make the album.", Jeff said, trying to focus on the purpose of all of us being there.

"Oh okay", Harry starts, "Well then, I have absolutely nothing planned", he laughs awkwardly, "I hate creating music with tight deadlines and I hate feeling obligated to make music, so I just felt like it was time to make another album and that I have more things to express through music. It's obvious that in this industry, I can't take 5 years to make an album, but honestly, my only requirement is for the album to be transparent and truthful.", he finishes, and I feel that this honesty coming from him is more of a personality trait than a thing of the moment.

I think the vulnerability with which he talks about music is something I really identify with... Music for me is personal and, therefore, I don't feel it should be mechanized.

"I think it's great... Even because I don't work well under pressure! I don't know if you know, but I've never done this... I've been writing and composing music for many years, but I only do it out of personal need and I usually do it alone.", I explain.

"Honestly I think it's a lot more about how you do things than how long you've been doing it because we were all new to this at one time," says Mitch.

"Okay but let's stop with these boring conversations and let's move on to action!!! Mimi why don't you show us something you've been working on?", says Sarah looking at me very hopeful and excited.
