I had to pull the truck over I swear I didn't hear that shit right.
"What you say" I say to her
"I'm pregnant" she says
"But how you just had your period like a month ago" I say
"I don't know Duke the nurse said it's possible" she says
"Wow" I say
"Yeah" she says looking out the window
"I wanna keep it" I say
She looks at me in a surprised manner
"Duke I don't know I just don't think-
"You don't think we're ready" I question her
"Yeah" she says
"I don't know I'm not ready" she says
"Summer I'll be with you every step of the way, I wanna change my life around and get out the streets and this is a great way to start" I say
"Duke I know you have high hopes but this is something big and I just don't know we're young" She says
"It's your body Summer so It's your choice of course but please just think about it" I say to her. She looks at me for a moment and sits in silence for what it felt like a good 10 minutes.
"I wanna keep the baby" she says looking at me causing me to smile big and give her a kiss
"Anything you need from here on out I gotchu don't matter the time or day or where I'm at" I say
"Okay, now move you breath already hot" she says giggling causing me to roll my eyes
Never did I intentionally mean to get her pregnant I joked plenty of times but this for sure was unexpected. Never in a million years I'd ever thought about me having a girl or a baby on the way. Everything's been moving fast these past couple of months but I could care less this is the happiest I've been.

"Damn bae chill out it ain't going no where" I say to summer who's putting food down like she don't get fed at home
"Sorry I'm just hungry Duke" she says continuing to eat
"Damn lil lady you can really put it down" I say laugh
She rolls her eyes at me
"You're still beautiful though" I say to her
"Thank you Duke, Imma need you to schedule an appointment with the obstetrician" she says
"I already did" I say
"Dang you read my mind never mind then" she says
"I think we should get the family together also and tell them also if that's what you want" I say
