Chapter 18 - The First Date

"D-Date??!"

Keith held Yna's hand and they walked away from the park. Yna thought that this was wrong. "Wait! But you have a girlfriend! This isn't right!"

"Who told you I have a girlfriend?" Keith said, still holding her hand.

"Stop! Wait!"

"Look. Jillian is my friend. I could not betray her," Yna exclaimed.

Keith let go of her hand. He don't know how to say it. He is not Jillian's boyfriend and he will never be. His heart belongs to that person in front of him. Instead, Keith just stayed silent.

Yna stood there while waiting for his answer.

"I think a friendly date won't hurt anyone," Keith finally said.

"Come on. I made reservations."

They arrived at a fancy restaurant. Yna was lost for words.

"But, the foods are so expensive here. Let's go eat in another restaurant."

"No. It's my treat. Remember, it is your birthday," Keith insisted.

They sat at a reserved table for two. They are the only ones inside the restaurant.

"Ahm, Keith? Where are all the other customers?" Yna curiously asked.

"Remember what I said earlier? I made reservations."

"You booked the whole restaurant!!!"

Keith nodded in agreement.

"But Keith," Yna felt a little embarassed. He booked the whole restaurant? How can it be?

"Excuse me, Master Ayala. Here's the menu," a waiter said.

"Master Ayala?...

Your family owns this restaurant!!!"

"You can say that without yelling, you know."

"Oh, sorry. But I was just surprised. Your family owns this and I didn't even know," Yna felt more and more embarassed.

"What do you want to eat?" Keith asked her.

"Anything less expensive," Yna answered, with her head down.

Keith touched her cheek and pulled it up to make eye contact with her.

"Don't worry. It's my treat, okay?"

Yna nodded but she still feels embarassed.

While eating their dinner....

"Wow! I'm so full!"

"I didn't know you eat so much," Keith teased and giggled.

"The food was so good. Can you blame me?" Yna pouted.

"Oh yeah. How are you and Jillian? Is everything alright with you two?"

Keith didn't respond. He just continued eating his food.
