"Nova! It's time!" Chadwick yelled up the stairs of the house. Nova threw down the book she was reading, jumped off of her bed, and slid right into her mint green crocs. She grabbed her backpack, threw it over her shoulder, and ran out the door.

"Where is she?" Nova asked, after making her way down the step quickly and swiftly. She looked around the foyer, not seeing her mother.

"She's in the bathroom, she wanted to change out of the wet pants." Chadwick said, trying his best to stay as calm as her could, but Nova could see the panic all over his face. She dropped her bag on the ground, and laid her head on his chest, hugging him. He wrapped his arms around her and let out the deep breath he had felt like he was holding in.

"It's gonna be okay Chadie. Mom's gonna do great and you're gonna do great. CJ is finally gonna be here, you should be excited!" Chad nodded his head and leaned down to kiss her forehead. Nova always knew exactly what to say to make everyone feel better about anything. She had only just turned 13, and was very wise for her age. He couldn't exactly shake his nervous feelings, seeing as he was about to become a father.

The last six years has been quite the journey for the couple. About a year after finding out about the affair and filing for divorce, Monica and Chadwick's divorce was finalized. Monica had went into labor a couple of days after Chadwick had gotten back into town. Chadwick put his pride to the side and stayed at the house to help monica with the baby, until the DNA results came in. He slept in a separate room, and barely communicated with Monica, unless it had something to do with the baby. The paternity of the baby girl wasn't easy to the eye, because Monica herself is pretty fair skinned.

"Hey...are you busy?" Monica asked, knocking on Chadwick's office door. Chadwick shook his head and waved her in. "So...the results are here." Chadwick stopped what he was doing and took a deep breath, nodding his head. Monica walked deeper into the office and sat in on of the chairs of the opposite side of his desk. She put the envelope and the desk, and they both stared at it. After a few seconds, Chadwick finally worked up the courage to pick up the envelope. Monica was on anxious, she was biting her bottom lip so hard, she was sure it was going to swell up.

Chadwick opened the envelope and pulled out the paper. He silently read the results to himself, put the paper down on the desk, got up and walked out of the room. Monica put her head in her hands, and just cried to herself. She didn't even have to look at that paper to know the truth, because she had known it all along.

A few hour after calming down and packing his belongings, he finally was ready to tell Monica he was filing for divorce. As devastated as he was that she wasn't his daughter, he was also relieved, because there was absolutely no reason to stay in contact with Monica. Chadwick had spent the first year and half after filing, going back and forth from Detroit and Chicago dealing with work and the divorce. Monica was still as spiteful as she could be, making the process longer and more difficult than it should have been.

"I should have listened to everyone who told me to make her sign a prenup." Chadwick said, sitting at the table with her hands in his head, with his eyes closed. He was shock at how unreasonable Monica was being about how to split up their finances, and she was demanding he pay spousal support. Chadwick was very confident in his lawyer, but the whole situation was stressing him out. He was ready to be done with all of this so he could move on with his life and heal.

Amina was standing behind Chadwick, so she put her hands on his shoulders and started to rub the knots out of his neck and shoulder. "What if I told you...I might have an idea to help give you a little bit of a break from the stress?" Chadwick lifted his head, interested in what she had to offer. She walked around Chadwick and sat down on the table, right in front of him so he was sitting between her legs. "Nova asked to spend the weekend with Carter again...Maybe we can have a little weekend getaway. Put our phones on 'Do Not Disturb' and check out for a couple of days."
