Saving Amina

Thirteen.

Chadwick had been staying with Amine for a couple of days, and he was starting to realize how much he enjoyed being around Amina and Nova. He loved waking up to smelling Amina cooking breakfast, and Nova running into his room, and jumping on the bed, waking him up.

At the same time, the happiness he was feeling, was bittersweet. It made him feel like he had a little family, which made him think about what the future would have been like with Monica and their baby girl, if she had never had her affair.

Chadwick sighed, and opened his eyes, deciding to brush the thought out Monica in the back of his head, like he's been doing the past couple of days. He had been up for a while, he was just waiting for Nova to storm in and jump on his bed, but it seemed like it was way past the time she usually would come in. Chadwick rolled over in the bed, and looked at his phone and seen a bunch of missed calls, and text messages from Monica, and a missed call from LaKeith. Chadwick got up, and went into the bathroom and after handling his morning business, he walked back into the bedroom and called LaKeith back.

"My boy!" Lakeith smiled into the facetime camera, making Chad laugh immediately. "Nice to finally hear from you. I've been worried about you."

"Yeah, Sorry for not calling. I've really been trying to stay away from my phone. You know Monica's crazy ass has been blowing me up." Chadwick said, putting his phone down, so he could get dressed for the day.

"Yeah, she's been calling at work too. She's even comes by the office every couple of days, to see if you're there." LaKeith said, and Chad, chuckled shaking his head.

"You can tell them to block her calls. The only way I would answer her is if she told me she was going into labor. Probably the only reason I would come back." He said, putting on his shirt.

"Oh, so you plan on staying with Amina for a while?" Keith asked, raising his eyebrow.

"Yea...I guess. At least until I figure out what to do with my situation. Amina's really understanding, so she said that I can stay for as long as I need too." He said, as he finished getting dressed, and picked the phone back on.

"I still haven't seen any pics of her. Maybe I can come up there and visit and see what you like so much about her. She's gotta look good though, I know that."

"It's nothing like that, Keith." He said, laughing. "She's a sweet girl, and I can't lie she is attractive, but we're just friends. And honestly, that's the furthest thing from my mind right now."

"Yeah, I know...but there's nothing wrong with having a lil' bit of something to get your mind off of things, even if it is for a little bit." Keith said with a smirk on his face, and when Chad rolled his eyes, they both started laughing. "I'm just kidding. You just do whatever you need to do to heal, as long as it's healthy."

"Will do. We'll I'm gonna go eat breakfast, and see what Nova is up too. I'll hit you up later, ight?" After the two said their goodbyes, Chadwick left the bedroom and seem Amina sitting on the couch, reading a book.

"Hey, Mina." He said, and she looked up and smiled, closing the book. "Hey, sleepy head, I was waiting for you to wake up, I was thinking we could go get some brunch?"

"Yeah, that sounds nice." He said, giving her a small smile and then looked around. "When my Nova girl?"

"Oh the Simons family asked to see her and she wanted to sleep over and play with their daughter, so they picked her up earlier this morning." She said standing up, and Chadwick just stood there, taking in her beauty.
