It's The End of The World

"Of course, you can stay here." Katherine said. Scott just arrived at her palace, asking for a room to stay the night in.

"You can sleep in the room next to mine. If you need to talk, just knock on the door, and if I'm asleep, wake me up. I won't mind."

"Thanks Katherine, it means a lot."

Katherine nodded, Scott could tell she wanted to know how it went with his dad, but she didn't want to pressure him.

Scott walked into the guest room, which was specially made for him. Katherine has her own room in Scott's palace, and Scott has his room in hers. There were clothes for him that were made for the warm sun of House Blossom, but Scott always wore his Rivendell attire there. It just felt right.

Scott changed into a plain white t-shirt that had a unicorn on it, and gray sweatpants then collapsed into bed. Luckily, he fell asleep immediately. And he would need it, because there was a lot waiting for him in the morning.

"Scott."

Scott shot up in bed, confused at where he was for a second, but then he calmed down. He looked around, the sunlight was peeking through the window, there was his Rivendell outfit hanging up across the room, and Katherine, looking surprisingly worried, was sitting on his bed.

"What do you want?" Scott asked grumpily.

"I've just been asked to go to a meeting, so I'll be gone for a couple hours."

"How long's the meeting supposed to take?"

"I'm not sure, but it's pretty important. I left a list of things you can do in my room. Erica's making breakfast so get up."

"Finee. But I'll probably just eat and sleep."

"That's fine, just... don't hurt yourself."

Katherine kissed Scott, got a quick breakfast and left soon after. She seemed panicked and in a rush. Scott soon got up and started eating. He was still in his pajamas, reading. Eventually, he heard a knock and Erica left to get it.

"Hello, Princess- er- Wizard Gem." Scott heard Erica say.

Gem? What's she doing here? Scott thought.

"Is Katherine here?" Gem asked.

"No, she left for an important meeting and won't be back until later, but Prince Scott of Rivendell is here."

"May I talk with Scott?"

Scott didn't hear anything else but saw Erica leading Gem to where he was sitting. Gem laughed as soon as she saw him. "Nice Pj's."

"Shut up." Scott said as Erica left the room.

"Anyway," Gem sat down across from Scott, "Why are you here?"

"I slept over last night and then she left today this morning."

Gem nodded. "I heard that the marriage of you guys was cancelled."

"Oh yeah. I forgot."

"You seem like something's on your mind. I thought you would be happier about the news since... you know." Gem always knew about Scott being gay. She knew before Scott even knew. Gem and Scott were allies, and therefore saw each other quite a bit.

"Well, I found out stuff about Xornoth and me." Scott said. Gem made a gesture showing Scott to keep talking.

Scott sighed and explained the whole thing to Gem. Afterwards, she didn't seem too surprised. "I feel like I've read something about two brothers. One was full of rage, the other, peace. That kind of sounds like what you're describing."
