Gabriel and Nathalie had taken noticed that the young designer had stop talking about her wedding two months after she came back from her internship, but even more when she was asked questions, she simply changed the subject.
"Marinette, have you start designing your wedding dress?" asked her mentor, while they were working on a piece together.
"You know it's not important... What do you think about the blush pink for the inside of this jacket?"
The man and his assistant were so shocked by her answer that they had both froze on the spot, looking at her. After that they kept the subject to a minimal, but still tried to get more information about the situation Marinette and Adrien's relationship, contacting Sabine and Tom, the following week.
"We don't have much more than you, but I know that Adrien haven't slept at their place since she's back," said Sabine.
"What!? But where does he sleep then?" asked Nathalie, confused and a little worried.
"We don't know. She doesn't like to talk about it, but she said the last time she spoke to him was about four weeks ago," answered Tom.
Gabriel was feeling the anger grow inside his chest, not understanding what was going on with his son.
"Nathalie, please, ask Adrien to meet me tomorrow after work and make sure Felix gets Marinette out of the Manor, after work," the designer pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, before getting his attention back to the girl's parents. "I will talk with my son and try to understand what is going on, but don't worry Tom and Sabine, for now I'll make sure Felix drives her home when she leaves and stays with her while she's waiting for Adrien."
"Thank you so much Gabriel and Nathalie. Felix is such a good young man, we like him very much," said the mother on the screen smiling, before ending the video call.
"I don't understand Gabriel," said Nathalie when they sat back in the armchairs. "She goes home every night to make dinner for Adrien and herself, but it seems like he doesn't even live there anymore... Do you... Do you think...? He's screwing everything up, right?"
Gabriel sent her a sad smile and nodded, knowing too well that his son will soon be losing a battle against his cousin, for the heart of the young woman, who was probably seeing their relationship coming to an end in a near future, but the boy was still too oblivious to acknowledge the pain he was causing his fiancée.
The very next day, Felix started to drive her home, to wait for his cousin with her. After a while and a warm meal on the counter, she would usually make a portion for him and they started to have dinner together, it naturally became a routine for the both of them. He would leave after an hour or two, leaving her to wonder where her fiancé could be, especially because he would not sleep at home nor answer his phone. Not even a week later, she didn't bother to try anymore, if Adrien was going to ignore her and leave her alone, it would be better for her to stop trying.
