                         Felix's POV
I went back to eating. I heard someone running up to me. I saw Mariposa's daughter, Destiny running towards me.

"Felix!"

"Hey kiddo."

Why does she have bruises all over her?

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm uh...on a date with your mom."

Her face lit up.

"Really?!"

"Yeah."

Mariposa ran back up to me.

"I-I'm sorry. She was at her uncle's but, he got arrested."

"It's fine Mari. How about this? I'll go get Trina and we can take them to the zoo or something."

"Really? That's okay with you?"

"Yeah. I don't mind."

"Oooo can we mommy?!"

"Yeah. Sure. Go get changed."

Destiny ran away.

"Thank you. You don't have to do that."

I shrugged. Destiny ran back to us.

"Okay! I'm ready!"

We got in my car and I drove us to my house. The front door flew open when we got in the driveway.

"Daddy!"

Katrina ran up to me. She jumped into my arms.

"Hey! Told you, I'd come back. Is your aunt up?"

Katrina nodded.

"Go get ready. I'm gonna take you, Mariposa, and Desi to the zoo."

"What about your date?"

"We had a breakfast date. Plus I'm counting the zoo to be part of it."

"Are you Desi's daddy now?"

My eyes widened.

"I-I uh.."

"Is Mariposa my mommy now?"

"Mariposa help."

"I-I don't know how."

We all walked inside. I put Katrina down.

"Go get ready."

Katrina ran away.

"Don't run up the stairs!"

I started walking around the house. I found Skyler in the living room.

"Hey. I'm taking the girls to the zoo."

"Oh? You're letting the kids crash your date?"

"Yeah."

She stood up.

"There's something...I have to tell you."

"Who died?"

"No one."

"Then what's wrong?"

"Mom called."

"What?!"

"She wants to talk to the both of us."

"Well...she's only talkin' to you."

"I figured you'd say that but...she was talking about you. I think...she regrets everything."

"You think?"

I heard someone running up to me. I looked and saw Katrina.

"Daddy?"

"Hm?"

"Can you do my hair?"

"Yeah sure. Go in the bathroom. I'll be right there."

She ran away.

"What should I tell mom?"

"I don't want to see her."

"Trina should see her."

"No. No way in hell. Remember the last time she did? Mom threw her across the room. She was in foster care for a fuckin month!"

"I-I honestly forgot. Do you think, Kat remembers?"

"I-I hope not. I-I gotta go."

I ran away and ran into the bathroom. Katrina was sitting on the floor. I picked her up and put her on the counter. She turned around so she'd be facing the mirror. I grabbed her hairbrush and started brushing her hair.

"Daddy? Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Your aunt told me something, that I didn't like. It's nothing for you to worry about. It's an adult problem. What do you want me to do with your hair?"

"I want it up in a ponytail."

I started putting it up.

"Daddy? Why did mommy have to go to Heaven?"

I hate my life right now.

I cleared my throat.

"I-I don't know sweetie."

"Why can't I see her family?"

"That's...a question I ask myself a lot too."

I started putting the hair tie in her hair.

"Do they hate me?"

"No no. Why do you think that?"

"They used to send birthday cards now...they don't."

I started hugging her.

"Let's talk about this later. Let's go have fun okay? We'll go see some animals and hang out with Mari and Desi."
