Chapter 27

Felix's POV
He curled up into a ball.

"You're okay."

As the weeks went by, he started to get more comfortable with me. He was opening up to me more. He was laughing. He was smiling. He still wasn't talking though. I went and got a car seat for him. I started to set up a bedroom for him too.

When we brought him home, he was scared to walk in. I picked him up and walked in. I started showing him the house. I put him down in his room.

"This is your room."

He started walking around the room. He walked over to the bed and just started staring at it.

"What's wrong?"

He pointed at it.

"That's a bed. Here. Let's get you washed up then, you can try it out."

After I gave him a bath and got him dressed, he started staring at the bed again. I convinced him to sit on it.

"See? It's okay."

The girls ran into the room.

"There you are!"

They ran up to the bed and climbed onto it.

"Daddy? Can we go to the aquarium?"

"Did mommy say, this was okay?"

"She said, to ask you."

"Oh? She did?"

Ryker looked at me.

"It's okay. We don't have to go."

He crawled into my lap. I smiled a bit. He yawned.

"Oh no. He's tired?"

"We should go."

The girls jumped off the bed. I laid down and put Ryker next to me. I started singing to him. He started to relax more. He started holding my hand. He pulled it underneath his head. He smiled.

"How is he?"

I picked my head up a bit and saw Mariposa. She walked up to the bed.

"He's okay. He's about to fall asleep."

She looked at Ryker.

"He looks like you."

"I can kinda see it."

"Should I, take the girls to the aquarium or, do you want to come?"

"Maybe, another time. I want him to sleep. He was uncomfortable in the hospital."

"Alright. I'll see you later then. I love you."

"I love you too."

She kissed me then the girls ran back in.

"Bye daddy!"

"Bye girls."

"We love you!"

"I love you both too."

"I love you."

Did Ryker just...

I jumped up. He opened his eyes.

"I love you too buddy."

"Did he just talk?"

"Yeah. Yeah he did. Go back to sleep Ryk. It's okay. I'll be here when, you wake up. Okay?"

He nodded.

I smiled. He shut his eyes again. I laid back down.
