On The Run (Soukoku)

-Chapter 6-

It was all fun and laughter between Chuuya and Dazai as they slowly but steadily made their way to the next town . Sadly,  the townspeople were only 10km behind then. They were dangerously, closing the gap. The duo would be in a disadvantage as tthey only have 3 daggers and 1 gun with a few extra bullets.

The duo only realised how close the townspeople were behind them when they came along a injured boar, blood seeping out of multiple bullet wounds. It came running towards Dazai and Chuuya much to their expectation because they had heard the footsteps of the boar coming towards them. Dazai swifty took out his dagger and stood protectively in front of Chuuya. Much to both of their shock, before the boar reached them,  the boar fell to the forest floor. The sound of dead leaves crubching below it. Dazai cautiously walked towards the boar with his dagger in front of him. Upon seeing one of the boars, wounds,  he saw the top of the bullet. Chuuya,  who noticed that nothing was wrong.  When he saw the bullet, he gasped.  He started stuttering,  "That's myclan's bullet. It definetly is!  It definetly is! The symbol is a circle with a line piercing through it.". Dazai looked closly and Chuuya was right. Therd was a slight engarving of a circle with a line piercing it. Chuuya stepped a few steps back as he kneeled down and buried his head into his knees. "They think I'm alive?! Even babies know that no one will survive from a fall like that! We're going to die!" Dazai who saw Chuuya panicking went over and pat Chuuya on the back in a comforting manner. Chuuya sighed as he stood up but it was visible that he was still panicking as a frown appeared on his face. "We just need to walk faster. Let's go!" Chuuya exclaimed and Dazai stifled a laugh upon hearing Chuuya's first sentence. As Chuuya walked forward, still calming himself down, Dazai looked at the dead boar and stomped on the ground hard and kept on stomping as he walked forward. He used a big leaf he found on the ground and dusted the ground hastily.  After a few more stomps, Dazai left with a look of accomplishment.

"Hey! Look, it's a dead boar!" One of the townspeople exclaimed as all rushed forward. Upon seeing the footsteps made beside it, Daisuke kneeled down and saw that the footprint was probably made about an hour ago. His father, upon noticing that, also observed and both glanced at each other while nodding. "Everyone, we will be going East!" What happened was that Dazai made stomped on the ground to made footprints that looks like a person was going East of the forest which is the opposite way of the next town where they should be going to. He used the leaf to dust the soil to eradicate Chuuya's and his footprints that showed where they really were going and stepped on leaves so as to not leave any more footprints. His plan succeeded as everyone went forward to the East. Little did they know, they were going the opposite way of where the wanted duos were going. They were so close but yet so far.
