In King's Landing, where the Tourney of the Hand is about to get underway. Robert, Cersei, Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella are already present. They are joined by Jaime, The hound, and Barristan Selmy, who is serving as protection. Robert is drinking a horn of ale. Sansa, Arya, and Septa Mordane are also seated nearby.

In the back, I, Gwen, Laela, and Baelor sit. Jaime and I am sitting next to each other at the audience's benches. Baelish sees Sansa looking at Joffrey who hides his face from her. He sits next to her. Jaime points at him "And that's little finger or Lord Baelish. You now know all the lords"
I nod "Yeah" Jory walks by and I wave to him and he waves back.
"I don't like him around"
"I told you more than once he is my best friend and I'm not going to cut off our friendship"
Little Finger walks up to Sansa "Lover's quarrel?"
Sansa wonders "I'm sorry. Do I...?"
Septa says "Sansa dear, this is Lord Baelish. He's known..."
Little Finger interrupts "An old friend of the family. I've known your mother a long, long time." he sits next to Sansa.
Arya asks "Why do they call you Littlefinger?"
Sansa is embarrassed "Arya!"
Septa sternly "Don't be rude!"
I shrug "She isn't, she asked a question"
Little Finger looks at me and turns to Sansa "No, it's quite all right. When I was a child, I was very small. And I come from a little spit of land called the Fingers, so you see, it's an exceedingly clever nickname."
Jaime is going to talk.
Robert stands "I've been sitting here for days! Start the damn joust before I piss myself!"
Cersei is embarrassed and leaves. The first competitor rides up, a huge knight in dark grey armor.
I look at him as disgusting while Jaime shakes his head. I wonder "What a king says that"
Jaime gives me a look "Robert Baratheon" The competitors step forward on their horses, and he introduces them to me "Ser Gregor Clegane. They call him the Mountain. The Hound's older brother."
"And his opponent?"
"Ser Hugh of the Vale. He was Jon Arryn's squire. Look how far he's come."
Robert Baratheon to them "Yes, yes. Enough of the bloody pomp. Have at it!"
The joust begins. The first pass takes its course with no contact. On the second pass, the Mountain's joust strikes Ser Hugh in the neck, causing a massive splinter, and his blood gushing out. This occurs directly in front of where Sansa is sitting.
Sansa shrieks in horror and the rest of the crowd looks on, shocked, most notably Robert, Arya, and Septa Mordane. Ser Hugh has a large splinter of wood stuck in his throat and is laying on the ground, coughing up blood for a few minutes before finally dying.
