Chapter 2

The next day

Mandy's POV:

I was walking around the institute when I noticed that all the dolls don't have any glasses.

Wait, am I the only one who wears glasses?

I looked around again just to make sure and yup, I'm the only one. I wonder if there's also another doll who looks different, like me. I'll ask Lou about it later. Wait, I should be attending his class. Just as I was about to head to Lou's class, I saw him walking toward me.

"Hey Mandy"

"Oh, hi Lou. I was just about to go to your class," I said, kinda puzzled.

"Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you during the weekend is my day off and so is the class," he replied.

"Oh, so that means there's no class for today?" I asked.

"Yup," he said.

"Oh, ok," I said, looking down.

"I know! why don't I give you a tour in Uglyville?" Lou suggested.

"Uglyville?"

"Yeah, it's where Ox and his fellow dolls live," he continued.

"Sounds interesting. Sure, let's go"

"Great, follow me"

Is it just me or am I just lucky to spend some time with the leader of this institute? Either way, I'm glad I get to be friends with him. We walked for a few minutes until we reached a tunnel.

"A tunnel?" I asked.

"Yeah, this is where we have to go before we get to Uglyville," Lou explained.

"But isn't it too dark in there?" I asked, feeling scared.

"Don't worry about it," he reassured.

He then called one of his bots and told him to guide us to Uglyville. Then we continued to walk toward the tunnel. After a few minutes, we saw a light and it was getting brighter as we got closer. And there it was...Uglyville.

"Wow..."

"I know, right?" Lou smiled.

"This place is beautiful," I was amazed.

"You ain't seen nothing yet. Come on," he said.

Then he walked into the corner of the tunnel. I followed him and saw a giant slide that leads down to Uglyville.

"Come on, I promise it will be fun," Lou reassured me.

He offered his hand and I gently took it. He guided me to the slide and sat on it. And...woooohoooo! After sliding down, I looked back and saw Lou talking to the bot and slid down.

"See? Isn't that fun?" he asked.

"Yes!" I exclaimed.

"Well, come on. There are some dolls I want you to meet," he said.

As we were walking, I was looking around.

Wow...this place is so colorful and filled with joy!

I saw that there are some pretty dolls that are playing around with the other dolls that looked like Ox. I don't know what they call themselves.

"Hey, Lou?"

"Yes, Mandy?"

"What kind of dolls are they?" I asked as I pointed at the unusual dolls.

"Oh, they call themselves the 'Uglydolls'," he replied.

"Really? They don't look ugly to me," I said.

"I know, right? They're more of a cutie than an ugly to me," he said.

We both laughed.

"Oh, we're here!" Lou said, gesturing to a house.

I looked at it.

"Oh, whose house is it?" I asked.

Then we heard a familiar voice.

"Lou!"

"There he is," Lou said.

I turned around and saw that it was Ox.

"Hey, pal! Oh, and I see you brought Mandy. Welcome to Uglyville, friend!" Ox greeted.

"Hey Ox, oh my, I didn't know that a place like this exist."

"Well, now you know. How bout we give you a tour?" Ox said.

"Yes please," I smiled.

"Moxy!" Ox called.

Then, a pink doll and some other dolls came toward us.

"Hey Ox and who's this pretty doll?" the pink doll asked while giving me a smile.

"Moxy, this is Mandy and she's new here. Mandy, this is my little sister Moxy," Ox introduced us to each other.

"Well, it's so nice to meet you too," I smiled.

Moxy introduced me to her other 4 friends. After that, they gave me a tour in Uglyville. They showed me Wage's bakery, and Uglydog's house and Babo even showed us some of his tools. Lastly, Lucky bat offered us some tea if we ever got stressed.

Lou's POV:

I was watching Mandy and the others while standing in a corner with Ox. I was smiling through the whole tour and I didn't know why. All I know is that I was in a good mood today and I was happy to see Mandy enjoying her tour.

"You didn't tell me you were going to visit today and with your girlfriend as well," Ox said.

"Wait, what the? What?! Who said anything about a girlfriend? She's not my girlfriend, Ox," I said, crossing my arms and glaring at him.

"Don't lie to me, pal. I saw the way you looked at her yesterday and that there my friend, is what you call 'love at first sight'," he said while making a heart shape with his hands and ears.

"No, I am not. I'm just really amazed by her beauty, that's all. Nothing serious," I said.

"You're in denial," Ox smirked.

"I said I'm not," I glared at him.

"Ok, fine. Whatever you say, Lou. But don't blame me if you ever catch feelings for her," he shrugged.

I just rolled my eyes.

Whatever. There's no way that I can be in love with Mandy, right?
