Chapter 5

At Lou's mansion

Lou's POV:

It's been months since Mandy and I became close friends, and yet, I haven't told her my secret.

Should I just do it? What if she doesn't want to be friends with me anymore?

These thoughts are replaying over and over in my head. But then again, friends don't keep secrets from each other. At least the ones that aren't such a big deal. I sighed.

"Oh well, I guess I'll just tell her tomorrow," I said to myself.

Then I went to bed.

The next day came and Lou got ready for the day. He then went to Mandy's house and knocked on the door. It was his day off today so he has some free time. Lou waited for a moment then Mandy finally opened the door.

"Oh, hey Lou. What's up?" Mandy greeted Lou with a smile.

"Hey Mandy, nothing much. I just uh...wanted to invite you to come with me to uglyville" Lou said, almost stuttering his words due to being nervous.

"Oh, ok then" Mandy replied.

"Great! Let's go!"

Lou and Mandy began to walk towards the tunnel.

Later at uglyville

Mandy's POV:

"Lou? Mandy? What are you doing here?" Ox asked when he saw us.

Lou then walked towards Ox and pull him in the distance. Lou said something to Ox and I don't really know what he was saying because he was whispering. Then they walked back to me.

"What were you guys talking about?" I asked with a smile.

"Oh, it was nothing. Just some mayor and leader stuff" Ox replied, scratching the back of his head.

"Uhm...ok?" I just said, kinda convinced.

"Shall we?" Lou said with his hand pointing in a direction.

I just smile and nodded then I followed him.

"Good luck, Lou!" Ox shouted.

What was that about?

I then glance at Lou and it looks like he was...blushing? But why? Is he embarrassed or something? I shook my head and just continued following him. A few minutes later, we stopped at a dock that was near the ocean. Lou sat down at the edge.

"Come sit here," Lou said, gesturing for me to sit next to him.

I sat down and stared at the beautiful scenery. I closed my eyes and feel the warm breeze. It was peaceful. A few seconds later, Lou decided to break the silence.

"Uh, Mandy?" he began.

"Yes, Lou?"

"The reason why I brought you here is because...I have something important to tell you" he said.

Then Lou looked away from me.

Wait, why is he looking away?

"M-mandy, I'm a prototype" he finally said.

"What?"

"I'm a prototype, Mandy. And I'm not allowed to go to the big world" he explained even more.

I was shocked to hear this. It was so sudden. But I really feel bad for him.
