Dally must have pulled a lot of ropes to still have his license. He was a maniac on the road. Several times I clutched onto the door to hold on just in case we went flying, especially on his sharp turns. But, even as fast and careless as he drove, I found it thrilling. Adrenaline surged through my veins and I felt real tuff riding with Dallas.
He quickly turned into a Dairy Queen drive-thru and ordered us food. "Figured it would be better than what they are serving at school."
I smiled as he pulled into the parking lot and parked the car. "Thank you, Dally. You're the best." He replied with a soft noise as he bit into his sandwich. I ate my food as well, happy that he didn't order me a small healthy meal. "Hey, Dal..."
He looked over at me. "Yeah?"
"Why did you take me here and not Sylvia?"
"Well..." He washed down the food with a coke. "I ran into you and not her."
"But she's your girl."
"Look, Tin-Can, I just wanted to. Okay?" He turned his head away from me. "I didn't realize it was illegal," He muttered under his breath.
"I wasn't sayin' that, Dal..."
"But you were implying it."
"No, I wasn't!"
"Yes, you were!" I glared at him and I stared off out the window. How does Sylvia manage him? I finished the rest of my food and I took our trash to the nearest bin. As I was stuffing the trash away, someone called out to me,"Hey, there good-lookin'!" I peered over at four boys making their way over to me. "What are you doing out here?"
I backed up. "Gettin' food, but I need to get goin' now." I turned back to the car, but one of his friends blocked my path. He was taller than the others with short brown hair and a white sweater.
"Look, my friend here thought you were real pretty and would like to take you out on a date."
"I'm not interested right now..."
They all closed in and towered over me. The main guy said, "We didn't give you an option." The blood drained from my face and I backed up into one of his buddies. His hands wrapped around my biceps and pressed into my skin. They each wore sinister grins.
"Please, I need to get back to my friend." Of all times to not look like a greaser girl...I may have avoided all of this if my brothers would just let me.
"Oh, so you have another friend?" The main one smirks.
I nod. "Yeah, I do!"
"And what's her name?"
"His name is Dally. Dally Winston." They all froze and the grip on my arms loosened.
"Winston is here? Now?"
Another guy jumps in, "We have to get out of here! Winston is crazy!" The car door slammed and Dally came storming toward the group.
"Hey!" His voice clashed like thunder. "Step away from her!" All of the guys cleared a path toward me. "Get over here," He demanded me. I quickly shuffled over to him, holding onto his jacket and refraining from looking at the guys. Dally had a mean look on his face. I've only seen him like this when the boys got themselves into a rumble.
"Dally..."
"Get in the car," He growled.
"Dal, don't try them. There is only one of you and four of them."
"I ain't tellin' you again!" I sighed and went to the passenger seat, closing the door even though the top of the car was folded back. All five boys faced each other. It was like something out of an old west movie.
"We aren't scared of you, Winston," the leader says.
He replied, "Want to change that?" They all advanced onto Dally, throwing punches, grabbing things and throwing them at him, and blood splattering all over the pavement. I couldn't be sure whose blood it was. I gripped the car door as I watched the boys fight. It was insane how Dally fought. He was able to hold off all four and was tiring them out.
"Dally, stop it!" I sat up on my knees. "You've won! Come on!" But he wouldn't stop. He yelled and threw the guys over his shoulders multiple times.
Finally, the Socs gave up and fled from the scene. Dally stood in his spot, basking in pride. I opened the door and hurled myself out of the seat, running to him to grab onto his jacket.
"Dallas..." His ice-blue eyes shot toward me and he harshly grabbed my shoulders.
"Did they touch you?"
I shook my head. "I'm okay. But look at you! God Dally! You can't go back to school lookin' like this."
"Well, we gotta."
"No. Take us to Buck's."
"Why?"
I snap, "Just do it, Dally!" I dragged him back to the car and he drove us to Buck's place. The ride was quiet and awkward, but I was more concerned about his injuries. Dally didn't like to show weakness. He pulled up to the bar and we noticed the new problem standing outside in three-inch black heels with a black jacket draped over her shoulders. A thick cloud of smoke momentarily fogged her face before it revealed a mean glare.
"Shit," He mutters and cuts the engine.

Thank you for taking the time to read chapter four! I hope you all enjoyed this! I am pretty proud of myself to be getting these chapters up so quickly. I do ask for patience though if I am not updating as fast. I have a three-step process for this. Notebook, Google Docs, Wattpad. So, it takes me a little longer to get things up.
