Strange feelings

Chapter 1

RUBY September 19th 1993

Ruby! Wake up school is about to start! Ruby was used to the yelling every morning, she always forgot to put her alarm. She got out of bed and put some clothes on, then she walked to the kitchen to get some breakfast. Morning mom, did you sleep well? Ruby already knew the answer. No honey I just can't sleep with the neighbours cat meowing every morning and the bed feels like I'm sleeping on the floor. Ruby sights, of course her mom starts her day with complaining that's basically the only thing she does lately. I'm going to school mom have a good day! She walks out the door and steps on her bike. 

When she arrives at school she sees her friends immediately. She parks her bike and runs up to them. But she trips and falls. Shit! Now I'm the center of attention, she feels that her knee was scratched. I'm so sorry are you okay? Says a voice behind her.  She turns around and sees a girl she's never seen before on this school. She was really pretty, she had very short light brown hair and light blue eyes. Her face was covered up in freckles and she had her nails painted black. The girl helps her up and apologizes another time. Its okay really! The girl introduces herself as jane, she was new here and this is not how she wanted things to start. Its fine no need to worry, should I give you a tour? Yes please I would love to! Jane says. Ruby waves to her friends and then walks away with jane. So this is the hallways it's were all the lockers are, and were everyone makes out. Ruby says sarcastically. Jane chuckles, Ruby didn't think it was that funny but alright. So why did you decide to switch schools then? Uhm I was ehrm being bullied at my other school so I just wanted to have a fresh start. Jane says. What were you being bullied about? Ruby asks. Uhm it doesn't matter it was just something silly. Jane says while looking at the ground. Oh ok, Ruby didn't think it wasn't that important I mean why would you switch schools? They finish the tour and jane asks: 'um can we be friends? I don't have any friends left on my Other school and you seem very nice!' Of course! You seem nice too. Ruby says. Let me introduce you to my friends, and they walk up to Lilly and Sofia. This is Lilly, and this is Sofia, Sofia smiles and says, 'hi! Nice to meet you what's your name?' I'm Jane, my real name is actually Janet but jane sounds cooler. Suddenly out of nowhere ruby gets a bad headache, it feels like her head is being shattered into pieces. Ruby falls to the ground with her hands on her head. Omg ruby are you okay?! Lilly asks worried. No I'm not oka- and then everything went black.

When Ruby woke up she was on a big grass field, she was laying on a white and red striped blanket. A big silhouette walked up to her, it was more a big shadow. w-who are you? The shadow ignored her question and kept walking. Who are you?! The shadow stopped walking, it was now about 4 feet away from her. My identity must not be revealed. The shadow said in a voice that sounded so terrifying that ruby got the chills. Don't worry for now I cannot harm you from here. w-what do you mean? Ruby asked. I'm in your mind, talking to you. I can only talk to you from here, unless you open the gate. What gate? W-what are you talking about? This is all a dream right?! No its not, this is real. The shadow explained. Why would you want me to open the gate? I'm not special! Ruby was super confused. Where do I even find this gate? The shadow didn't answer those questions, instead he just said: open the gate by the end of this week or there will be consequences. What do you mean consequences?! Ruby asks worried. The shadow slowly faded away. What will happen if I don't open the gate?! Hey! Answer my questions! Everything went black again except for one light. Ruby started running in the direction of the light but then she fell.
