I walked into school on Monday, the usual way I do. With my head down and my phone in my hand. It's never going to change. I reach my locker and, as usual, I see Alex leaning up against my locker, waiting for me. I clear my throat and she smiles at me, giving me a little wave and pushing herself off the locker so I could open it.

"What's up?" She asks, tugging on the strap of her bag, adjusting it on her shoulder.

"Nothing, really..What's up with you?"

"Same old shit." She sighs, and looks as I put the books in the locker.

"Oh guess what?" I say, grinning from ear to ear.

"What?" Alex says, blankly.

"I asked you to guess.." I frown and look at her. Usually she does guess something, even if it's stupid. She's a little...unusual today.

"Just tell me.." She groans, crossing her arms. I assume her mum must have caused some trouble over the weekend again. So, I do not question her behavior.

"I got my phone back!" I say, pulling out my phone and waving it around. A big grin forms on her face and she looks way more happy than I am.

"You got your phone back?" I hear a voice behind me, knowing who it belonged to.

I turn around and see Luke making his way towards me.

"Hi." He says, chewing gum and walking like he knew this place was his.

"Yeah..I got it back yesterday." I mumble, smiling a little at him.

"Cool, let me type in my number." He says, catching me by surprised. Nevertheless, I hand my phone to him and he types into it.

I feel a poke on my lower back and look over my shoulder to see Alex standing there, her eyes wide open and a question mark painted on her face. I shrug and look back at Luke.

"Text me late, Eliza James." He says, handing my phone back and purposely holding my hand as he did so.

"Will do, Luke Hemmings." I say and nod. A smirk on his face as he backed away and leaving. I brace myself as I turn around and look at my friend, clearly having a panic attack.

"What. The. Fuck? Was that?" She question, still in shock. A laugh escapes my lips, as I watch her looking like she would explode.

"It's too much drama to explain right now." I shrug and shut my locker.

"Well, you have to tell me!" Alex exclaims, walking beside me as we walk to class.

"I will. Just not right now." I say, and shrug again.

"You better tell me every detail." She glares. Making me think over everything that happened so I can tell her. Not much happened but I still know she'll make a deal about it.

As we walked to math in silence, I see Anna walking towards me making me roll my eyes. Alex must have seen her too, because she grabbed my arm and pulled me to her side. Keeping a firm grip on my wrist. It kinda hurt but I know she did it because of the stunt Anna and her minions pulled the other day.

"Hey, Eliza!" Anna says, stopping in front of us. I rolled my eyes but held a smile.

"Hi, Anna." I fake smile and look over to Alex. Who looked like she'd attack if Anna tried anything.

"Everything good?" She asked, crossing her arms and looking me up and down. Like, she's judging my outfit choice. I honestly don't care, because I know she'd judge me about anything.

"Yeah..I got to get to class now. So.." I say, already walking away and dragging Alex along. I don't turn around to look at Anna, I keep walking.

"You could have let her say something so I could give her a piece of me." Alex says, pulling her hand out of my grip and fists the air. I roll my eyes and keep walking.
