The week past by fast and I could breathe without a worry. As the days past, people stopped staring at me and finally realized they had a life. Oh, Luke Hemmings? I haven't made any contact with him since Monday. One, because I was basically warned by his former "girlfriend". Second, because he was trouble and I felt the need to stay away from him.

I've seen him a couple of times in the halls or in the cafeteria and of course, in math class. He doesn't poke me in the back now, so I guess it was just a one time thing. Or maybe, he stopped since I actually stay awake in class. But thank Jesus it's Sunday. Well, I'm not entirely happy because it's Monday tomorrow.

I kick at the ground, as I make my way to the supermarket. My hands dug deep into the pockets of my sweatshirt and my ears plugged with my earphones. It was a getting a little suffocating sitting at home, surrounded by Lizzie's friends and Chad and mum.

I've tried being nice to Chad lately. Not for my phone but for the sake of my mum. It's nice to see her happy again. It's been a dark time for her, for all of us. Plus, Chad isn't half bad as I thought he was. He's actually funny and cool. Not gonna admit it to mum or him though.

I enter the supermarket, walking to towards the drinks section. I didn't really need anything from here. It was just an excuse to get out, but for the heck of it I pick a chocolate milk and walk to the counter to pay.

I think I'll take a walk around the block, because I really don't want to go back home and have to deal with people. I need some quite time and I haven't been getting any. Today is my flipping day!

"Stop following me, Eliza James"

Of course, I spoke too soon. Luke was standing in front of me in the cue. Why me, God? Why me?

"Luke Hemmings." I say, looking at the boy stood in front. I tried sounding as disinterested or surprised. Basically, I didn't show any emotion.

"Nice seeing you here, after a long week of not seeing you." He says, placing a Red Bull on the counter for the lady to scan the item. Well, her eyes scanned Luke more than the machine did on the Red Bull.

"Uh huh." I say, pulling out my Ipod. Trying to avoid looking at him. I see him peek at my screen, but I immediately put it back in my pocket and wait for him to move ahead.

"Nice lip ring." The lady at the counter says, as she slides the can and waits for Luke to pay. I honestly felt sick, by the way she looked at him.

"Thanks." Luke mumbled, not bothering to look up at her as he took out the money and paid. "That ones paid for too." He says, handing the money and nodding over to the chocolate milk in my hand.

"Luke, you don't have to pay for me." I say, about to stop him before he gives the money but am too late.

"Too late, princess." He says, smirking. The lady looked like she'd charge at me, so I shut up and took my milk and followed Luke out of the lane.

"Thanks.." I mutter, as we step outside. He looks at me and shakes his head.

"So, what are you doing now?" He says, rocking back and forth and playing with his lip ring.

"I don't know..Just walk around town I guess." I shrug.

"Alright, I'll join you." He says, casually and pops open the Red Bull.

"I don't remember saying I wanted company." I say, crossing my arms.

"I didn't say you did." I look dumbfounded right now, I am sure. "You coming or not?" He says, already walking ahead.

I stare at him, slowing walking towards him, joining him as he walked down the path. The sun was still up in the sky, but will set in a while. I couldn't really pay attention to my surroundings, for I kept looking at the boy next to me.
