Ten more minutes of math. That's it. Just ten more minutes.

My eyes shifted from my notebook to the clock every second. I'm not even sure what I'm doing, but I'm positive all my answers are wrong. I don't really care because all I really want to do is finish with this class and leave. Get out of here, not making eye contact with the teacher and pray that he doesn't hold me back to "discuss" my math marks.

My eyes shifted to the clock again, but my name was called out, nearly making me fall off the chair.

"Ms. James, looking at the clock every second will not make time go faster." Mr. Ray says, pushing his glasses up his nose and sending me a glare.

I nodded, not wanting to say anything to him right now. I'm pretty sure even a 'sorry' would land me into detention. Even though I've never actually been sent to detention. Yeah, I'm that little Miss. Goody Two-shoes.

As I continued scribbling in my book, the bell rang, making me almost throw my hands up and yell 'YES!'. But, I contained my excitement and picked my books up ready to run out the classroom.

I stood up quickly, about to run out the room, not even looking if Alex or Luke were behind me. I couldn't care right now. I just needed to get out and hope that Mr. Ray won't notice. But, of course, I did not have that kind of luck.

"Ms. James. Can you stay for a minute." He says, making it sound like a question, when in reality he just means 'Stay or you're dead meat.'

"Yes, Mr. Ray?" I groan, turning around and giving him my most innocent face. Which was a fail.

"Ms. James, your math marks haven't been the best..What's the problem?" He questions, shuffling a bunch of papers and placing them neatly on the table. I shrug, suddenly forgetting words.

"Are you going to do about this, Eliza?" He sighed, rubbing his temples and looking up at me.

"Well..." I racked my brains, trying to find a good answer. Something that would convince him enough to let me off the hook. But, when I couldn't he let out another loud sigh and took his glasses off, giving me a sympathetic look.

"Eliza, if you want I could tutor you after schoo-"

"Um..actually, Mr. Ray, I'm helping Eliza with her math." A voice behind says, taking me by surprise because I didn't think anyone was in the room. I turn to look at Luke with the most horrified expression ever.

"Ah. Mr. Hemmings." Mr. Ray says, sounding a little more happy than he was two seconds ago. "Well, I certainly wouldn't mind if Luke were to help you Eliza. I'm sure he can help you with everything."

"Oh definitely, Mr. Ray." Luke says, and I know for a fact he has a smirk on his face. I know your intentions, Mr. Luke Hemmings! I see right throw your games!

"Well, then I guess you can go." Mr. Ray says, clapping his hands together, gesturing us to leave.

I walked out first, still trying to process what just happened. Why would Luke do that? How good was Luke at math? What is this sorcery? Bad boy good at math?! What?

"Will you quit walking so fast?" Luke called from behind me, grabbing my arm and pulling me back next to him. I keep my head low and continue walking at a slower pace.

"Why'd you do that?" I ask, looking up at him. His bright blue eyes meeting mine and a confused expression on his face.

"Would you prefer staying back and being tutored by that idiot?" He raised an eyebrow at me and rolled his eyes.

"No.." I mumble, looking back at the floor. We walked silently, his arm brushed mine constantly and made me feel a little uncomfortable. I moved a little bit further apart so I wouldn't be too close to him, but he moved along with me.
