"Hey!"
"Hi"
She pulls me into a hug. I hug her back. I'm not mad at her anymore. I think I'm over it already.
I texted her yesterday and told her we need to talk. She agreed and said we could go to the beach. I arrived about 10 minutes early. I needed some time to think which was very helpful. I was glaring at the horizon when I heard a car's movement behind me. I knew it was her almost immediately, but I didn't turn around to see her right away. I closed my eyes and let in a deep breath first. When I spotted her figure, my heart fluttered.
Mrs. Heavenly is the sweetest person I've ever met. She's so honest and sincere. I know she loves me, and I love her, too. I know I cut her off, but now that I know exactly what happened, I think I can fix this.
"I'm sorry about what happene-", she tries to apologize but I stop her.
"It's me who should apologize. I judged you based on what I saw and didn't even hear your side of the story. I'm sorry"
"Honey, I lied to you. I wasn't there when you needed me. You almost died because of me"
"1. You lied because you knew I would get hurt. 2. You were there when I needed you the most. 3. It wasn't because of you. I just got tired of everything. I'm sorry I pushed you away. I just didn't know the whole story, but now I know and I want to fix this if you would let me"
"There is nothing you can fix love, it was never broken" she says with a big smile on her face.
I missed that smile to be honest. The smile that light up my world. The smile that makes everything bright and shiny. The smile my heart admires. I missed her presence, her voice, her touch, her humor, her love...
I throw my arms around her and she hugs me back. She holds me so tight, tighter than all the times she's held me.
Gosh, I missed this so much.
We don't move as we both savor the moment. She gently plays with my hair and runs her fingers through it. I can't express the feelings I experience when she holds me. There is no way I could explain it. It's beautifully magical.
"When you were here before, couldn't look you in the eyes" I start.
"You're just like an angel. You're skin makes me cry" she continues.
I lifted my head up and looked at her sparkly brown eyes.
She knows the song.
"You float like a feather, in a beautiful world" I put my head on her chest and add "That's true though" I can feel her smiling.
My kept on my head on her chest and carefully listened to her heartbeats as they perfectly rhymed.
"I love you" I whispered.
"I love you too" she says.
"Shouldn't we go home? It's getting late"
"I have a better idea"
I pull away just a little so that I'm facing her, "What is it?"
"What if we spend the night together?"
"What about your kids and husband?"
"They'll be there"
"What do you mean?"
She kisses the side of my head and whispers, "You're coming home with me"
"That is not happening" I put my head back where it was.
"Why not?" she resumes playing with my hair.
"I can't just go to your house and stay there. It'd be weird"
"No, it won't be weird"
"Well, I can't leave my grandma alone"
"Your grandma already knows you're going with me"
"Wait, what?"
"Shush, stop asking questions. Just relax"
"I can't really relax. I have anxiety, remember?"
She laughs. I smile.
"You're sure this is okay?" I ask with clear concern in my voice.
"Stop worrying love"
"Did you ask your family how they feel about this?"
"Yes, I did and they're excited to meet you"
"They know about me?"
"Of course they do" She smiles. So, I smile, too.
"You have 3 kids right?"
"Yes, I do"
"Can't you take me home?"
"I am taking you home"
"What do you mean?" I raise an eyebrow.
"You'll see"
