Heavily yawning, [Y/N] rolled over. Their eyes widened; the sleepiness subsided. Dark Choco's face was right in front of theirs, his warm breath hit their face. A light tint of blush spread across their face. Clutching their head, they arose from his bed and headed towards the door. They didn't remember falling asleep in this room...

Swinging open the maroon wooden door, [Y/N] headed into the narrow hallway and made their way towards the exit. Licorice stood there hesitantly, fiddling with his fingers. "Oh uh...H-hey! Are you ready...to...you know...get the t-task done?" He nervously asked, avoiding eye contact. [Y/N] nodded, following him outside the castle.

Heading into the dense tainted forest, he shuffled closer and grasped their hand in his. Licorice's palms were sweaty and shaky, yet they didn't take much notice. Whilst picking up the berries, they heard a rustling in the bushes. Licorice was busy fighting with a crow in a nearby tree to hear it. Suddenly, a familiar figure darted out of the bushes.

"G-gingerbrave?!" [Y/N] asked stunned, eyes becoming bleary. Gingerbrave rushed to them and pulled them into a tight embrace. They silently cried into his shoulder. He stroked their back to calm them down. "What are you doing here? You could get hurt-or worse!" Gingerbrave heavily sighed, pulling away.

"I came here for you, [Y/N]. I couldn't abandon something as priceless as you. You mean the world to me..." He mumbled, turning his head away. "Sorry if I took ages...me and strawberry managed to escape, yet she went missing. Look, I'll tell you the whole story when we get to safety!"

Gingerbrave swept [Y/N] off their feet and dashed away from the Tainted forest. Of course, Licorice was too oblivious to know where they were. He was in trouble for losing sight of them. He panicked, yelling their name...

[Y/N] perched beside the warm, cosy fire. Caramel Arrow was sipping a boba (why not?), made by one of the kind villagers. The village was chanting, singing merrily at Gingerbrave's return. The howling of the harsh Cacao wind was blocked by the merriment. Sighing, they turned to Gingerbrave, who was currently smiling.

"Thank you...Gingerbrave" [Y/N] thanked...rubbing their hands together to create some warmth.

"No-no...i-it's fine..." He replied bashfully, a light tint of a blush spreading across his face.

Caramel Arrow glanced into the distance was gloom. [Y/N] raised a brow in concern and walked over to her. "Are you okay? You seem miserable..." They questioned, wrapping an arm around their shoulder. She nodded in response, giving a half-smile.

"It's hard...you know? Like when you lose someone special to you...I hope Dark Cacao is faring well in a new life," she sighed, placing her drink down. Giving her a small hug, [Y/N] headed back to their tent. The people there seemed happy, despite the environment and situation they were currently in.

Laying down peacefully, their mind raced. "I wonder how they are getting on..." They wondered, rolling onto their stomach. They heavily blushed at the remaining memories of the past prince they loved and Red Velvet. It was going to be hard moving on- but it was for the best! Things were awful there...Okay, maybe that's dramatic.

With a brief smile, they wished their friends goodnight. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a new chapter in their lives and good memories would be created. However, they had to be careful. Affogato and his worshippers lurked in these lands. They had to be undercover. A message would soon reach out to him about them being missing. The laughter and bold merriment faded away, becoming drowsy with each blink.

Soon enough, they fell asleep peacefully, happy to be finally safe...or was it the best choice in their lives?...
