As they slowly awakened, they tried to move towards the cell door, yet something yanked them back. "No...you're not going anywhere," Red Velvet muttered, pressing [Y/N] into his chest. Backing away, they stared at him with confusion. Why wouldn't he let them be?
"Why can't I?" They asserted, raising their hands in an aggravated manner. He heavily sighed, furrowing his brows. Walking closer to them, he grasped their hands in his claws. A look of concern washed over his face, expression softening. He placed his normal hand on their rosy cheeks.
"I don't want you to follow in Dark Choco's footsteps...I don't want you to throw away your life for his shameless soul," Red Velvet answered, glancing away from them with guilt. He desperately wanted [Y/N] to stay. Following in his footsteps would result in him never seeing his love again. "Please...stay..." He whispered, moving closer.
"I-I can't...I have to go look for him!" [Y/N] exclaimed, "You don't understand how much he means to me!"
They stepped back in shock, body shaking, eyes widening. They'd never raised their voice at him. Legs trembling, [Y/N] froze to the ground. With all the fear, their face turned pale. Red Velvet walked towards them. They prepared to be attacked by him for what they did, sticking their arm out. However, instead, he pulled them into a tight embrace rather than being violent. Small crystal tears rolled down their flushed face.
Red Velvet wiped their rosy cheeks of the tears, smiling a half-smile. One that hides hidden true feelings. "If that's what you desire, [Y/N]. Know I'll always be here if you wish to return," he spoke sincerely, placing a hand on their shoulder. Despite his reassuring words, they felt an extreme pounding guilt inside their heart. Quickly, [Y/N] gave him a small kiss before rushing off out of the cells that were left unlocked.
The Cake General stared at the rigid chains, narrowing his eyes with a cold expression. How dare Dark Choco take claim of such an innocent, selfless being. That waste of a soul. Oh, how he loved to see [Y/N] fit perfectly in his arms, warm and cosy. Dark Choco just wanted to use them. "Hopefully they'll see his bad intentions. You can't change a villain Darling," he smirked to himself, swiftly turning around and heading towards his workspace.
Flopping onto the ragged chair, he rested his chin on his palm, contemplating what he should do if Dark Choco hurts [Y/N]. Or even better, if he deserts them. Suddenly, his brain clicked, a villainous grin resting on his face. "Oh how innocent and naive you are, he'll be gone with just a click of my finger..." And with those words, he clicked his fingers...

In a hurry, [Y/N] slumped their coat over their shoulders, quickly packing a bag full of supplies they may need for the journey ahead. Obviously, he couldn't have travelled too far in one day- right? Blowing stray hairs out of their face, they sighed tiredly, wiping their forehead of the trickling sweat.
Eventually, everything had been sorted. They dashed outside the castle, avoiding Licorice who was chasing after them at the time; their mind was focused only on one sole thing. The crisp winter wind nipped their rosy cheeks. After almost an hour of endless running, they felt something stiff and jagged hit their foot. Bracing for impact, they pushed their hands out in front of them. "Ow..." They winced, scraping their hands on the rocky grounds before them.
Slowly arising off the ground, they observed their torn shoes. There was no point in continuing- if they were reluctant, that is. Their foot wept crimson onto the ripped fabric. Sighing deeply, they pulled their wounded foot closer to them. Reaching into their bag, [Y/N] pulled out a bandage. Carefully wrapping it around, they frowned at the quality of it. Narrowing their eyes, they tried multiple times at tying it, yet it didn't work. They groaned in annoyance, slamming their first onto the stone.
From behind, someone cleared their throat. "Need a hand?" A masculine voice asked, crouching beside them. His dark hair fell over his face, hiding his scar. Grabbing the bandage, his blood-red eyes focused on the wound, sighing. "You need to be more careful, [Y/N]," he spoke, bandaging the gash.
"How do you know my name?" [Y/N] asked stunned.
The male pushed the hair out of his face with his bruised hand, "Why did you come back for me?" Suddenly it clicked to them; Dark Choco.
"That doesn't answer my question!" They exclaimed with frustration. "The reason I came back...is because I love you! I can't survive a day without you!" Dark Choco subtly laughed, a small smile resting on his face. If only [Y/N] knew of the burden weighing upon his shoulders with them around...

Another Writer's Note:
You know how in the cannon game Dark Choco can't see out of his left (I think) eye because of his scar? I actually forgot about that within these 36 chapters. So instead, he can see out of both eyes but due to the scar his vision is limited in that eye, often blurry.
