Hyperventilating, they awakened frantically, dripping in a cold sweat. After being relieved of the initial shock, [Y/N] wiped their forehead, breath shaky. They had imaged something despairing and unnerving; their homeland, the innocent tribe members, were screaming and shouting in distress, as ferocious flames engulfed the place that was most important to them. And even worse, their brother Hazel was rescuing and evacuating all the villagers, however, he didn't save himself and ended up perishing.

Glancing around their surroundings, [Y/N] reassured themselves that nothing had happened. Slowly, they arose from the mattress and stumbled over to the bright orange light glaring fiercely. Much to their surprise, they had awoken at the crack of night. The midnight blue sky was sparked with orange burning flames; embers floated aimlessly around the group. A pair of purple sparkling eyes met with theirs. Black Raisin rushed over to [Y/N], handing a small village her torch.

"What's happening?!" [Y/N] yelled over the loud roaring and crackling noises. Black Raisin placed a hand on their shoulder, barely managing an honest smile. It was a more despairful and worried one.

"Don't worry..." She half-smiled, glancing back at the villagers. They were all silent, contently watching the two. "We're doing this for your and ours safety...". Their eyes teared up, vision becoming bleary. [Y/N] fell limp into Black Raisin's embrace, tears flooding her shoulder.

After a few minutes, she pulled away, saying one last goodbye to [Y/N]. Pure Vanilla bid his farewell, as he followed alongside the leader. All the villagers trailed behind, chanting with triumph. [Y/N] collapsed to the ground in tears. It was silent and solemn in the atmosphere; their chants grew fainter and fainter...

Nobody was there, it was just them...

Just them...right?...

As they glanced up, hair drooping over their flushed face, their weary eyes were met with the graceful, angelic figure of Hazel. He reached his loving, warm hand out to them, to help them off the mud. [Y/N] rubbed their sore eyes, breath shaking. Just as their shivering, frail hands touched him, Hazel faded away into the night sky. "No! Please- Please! Stay with me!" They cried in despair, collapsing back down. Their legs were tucked under their shivering body, covered in the soil and muddy ground. They gasped for air with every sob. A knot grew in their stomach, growing with every passing second. Their shaky voice raised, turning cries of despair into painful screams.

They deeply missed Hazel, his loving and honest smile. He helped his family in the toughest of times- if only he was right by their side currently.

From behind, a sword clattered as it hit the cobbled stone pathway by the entrance. The figure darted over to [Y/N]. A pair of warm arms quickly wrapped around their waist, pulling them into a tight embrace. [Y/N] buried their flushed face into their chest, sobs becoming muffled. Their shaky voice began calming down, cries becoming faint. "Shh..." The person whispered in a soft tone, stroking their shivering back. As they slowly lifted their face out of the figure's chest, they peered upwards and saw the familiar short, messy black hair with white streaks. His scarred hand reached over to their face and was placed on their rosy cheeks. He gently levered their head upwards so they were face to face. Dark Choco's blood-red eyes scanned their flushed face, suffering intense guilt. If only he sticked by their side, none of this would've happened. He was an awful lover.

Tears rolled down their cheeks as they quietly wept. "Shh...I'm here [Y/N]..." He mumbled, stroking their rosy cheek with his thumb. After a few moments, they calmed down. He gazed into their [E/C] eyes, reminiscing his life with them before he was forced to join the villains again. Dark Choco was never meant to be a hero, yet his evil intentions were twisted and his plans were tossed away whenever he saw them in despair. The prince always wished to be by their loving side, yet he never showed them enough affection.

"I'm...so sorry...[Y/N]...I owe you a sincere apology...I'm a bad lover..." Dark Choco whispered, crystal tears forming in his blood-red eyes.

[Y/N] glanced up at his tearful eyes, stretching their arm up to wipe the tears. Their shivering hand trailed downwards to his chest. His heartbeat was irregular, some faster than other beats. Nevertheless, that was the least important. Placing their hand on his chest, they leant upwards, lips meeting his. Dark Choco's eyes widened but didn't hesitate to return them. His bruised hand trailed to their head, entwining his fingers in their hair. [Y/N]'s sweet tears rolled solemnly down their rosy cheeks as he continued to kiss them. It wasn't about the kiss specifically, it was the fact he still loved them and the traumatic thoughts of their brother still pounded their broken heart.

After a few minutes, Dark Choco pulled away, a light tint of blush on his cheeks. He grasped his cloak with one hand and wrapped it around [Y/N], resting his head on their shoulder. Dark Choco felt their heartbeat slow down because being comforted helped them. It soothed the pain and calmed them.

"I-I love you [Y/N]...no matter what...even if we can't be together..." He muttered, stroking their back. They swallowed what felt like a large lump in the throat. What did he mean if they couldn't be together?...

A feminine figure coughed in the background as if waiting for him to speak. "Dark Choco, I understand you prefer to help them, yet, you must remain focused on the task," She strolled over to the two figures, placing a hand on the prince's shoulder. "It's time you return safely back, [Y/N]..." She spoke softly, with a reassuring tone...
