Sitting up Ella looks to them, "among my blood cells you'll see yellowy orange cells that sometimes look like they join together or multiply and consume blood cells."
Right away Miles considers some blood diseases.
"Whoa really?" Adan wants to go right now, "we gotta see this."
Scanning the room Ida tries to recall where a hand mirror is. "Papa what do you think?" Twisting around Ida moves swiftly to the bathroom.
"A transfusion isn't a simple thing, we need blood to use. That would take time to store up enough to get started. The blood really needs to be used quickly or it'll expire. In that time not one of us can produce enough blood to use, to completely replace someone's blood." The doctor leans forward, "Ella can I have a look in your eye?"
Hesitant Ella knows he'll spot the difference, placing faith into Miles character hopes to aid the plea, "okay but if you think discretion is involved let me know."
At first Miles is content as he turns for a flashlight and glasses. With discretion mentioned he wonders what might be seen. "It's true what they say about eyes being the window to the soul. In it we can see a person's basic health. The emotion sensed from the eye helps us as well."
"Yes that is true," Ella sits up more in the chair.
Miles kneels before Ella, already studying her soft brown eyes. First thing he notices intelligence and good overall health. The second thing is Ida standing beside with a mirror in hand of an outstretched arm.
Miles rolls his eyes to the girl, "Ida, I don't think she's a vampire."
"Oh sorry." Able to see Ella's reflection Ida pulls back the mirror to study Miles at work, "do you see anything papa?"
Smiling at the attempt Ella winks at Ida, "I'm no Vampire. Just a person hosting a parasitic organism."
With a shake of the head Miles turns attention back into Ella's eyes, "your brown eyes are very bright and lovely. I think your physical health is good. The..." he pauses noticing tiny yellowish orange veins in the iris. At a distance they make Ella's eye color pop. Up close Miles wishes for missing examination glasses. "You do have something in you don't you?" He sits back in thought.
"Yes," Ella studies his emotions, wondering if he saw the reflective night eye within.
"Can I see?" Ida inquires to both Miles and Ella.
Observing Miles in thought Ella nods, "go ahead sweetie. Look at the brown in my eye. You'll see yellowy squiggly lines.
Adan comes over to get a look as well, "can I see too?"
Ida has a look and having studied eyes notices the tiny lines, "it almost looks like glittering gold sparkles." Still looking at the eyes she backs up putting Ella's brown hair into view envisioning Ella's being.
"Can I see now?" Adan pats Ella's arm.
With Miles in thought Ella can see Ida putting the whole thing together. "Sure Adan." Breaking Ida's gaze Ella adjusts her face for Adan to see, "look at the brown part of the eyes."
"Okay," having only looked at a few eyes and not deeply Adan's not sure what to look for or at, "I think you have pretty eyes. They make you look smart."
Ella loves his prognosis, "thank you Adan. You've got a handsome set of peepers there yourself."
Giggling he stands up, "Peepers? Peep peep."
Vividly imagined Ida can see Ella as the wolf she encountered and freed the other day, "a werewolf."
Oh my god she's good. Winking at Ida, Ella plays along with her figuring Miles will never accept a werewolf, "you got me Ida. I'm the wolf everyone's looking for. But don't worry I'm not here to eats yous. I don't want you to join my pack. I want yous to help me into yours."
