Flying as fast as possible Vladimir wants to catch up to Filomena to calm and comfort her. Unwilling to look back Filomena's frightening first encounter with Ella's wolf has her focused on getting home.
"Fil! Fil!" Vlad chirps away. Can't she sense I'm back here? Or is that it? I'm way to old to be flying this much. If I don't pull something, I'll surely be feeling it tomorrow. "Fil!"
She glides onto a country estate with tall cedar hedges fencing in the front of the property. The hedges wrap loosely around the main-house leading deep into the backyard. Many trees decorate the inner lawn and many more line the back three quarters of the property.
The main house is very Greek in appearance. Complete with simple pillared roof extensions for the front entrance and a larger one for the back patio.
Vladimir notices the grounds and in-ground pool are clean and taken care of. The pool house resembles the main house's exterior finish. Well if I have to sleep outside that looks okay.
Observing Filomena drop from the sky and under the rear patio roof Vlad loses sight of her. I guess she likes the places with over the top styles.
Gliding down Vlad lands on the patio able to figure out where Fil went. A sliding glass patio door has a large pet door inserted between it and frame. Just beyond the glass door Filomena's black bat is easily spotted slumped on a pink lounge chair.
"Fil," Vlad chirps a few times scratching at the window with a wing-nail, "Fil I'm sorry for what happened there. She's hard to predict as a wolf." Hard to predict as herself sometimes.
Hearing him she turns the head back, "that was way too intense of a first date Vlad. I may need time to think." She sits up. I'm going to get killed by one of those two. What did I get myself into?
Seeing him pitifully scratching at the door does warm her soul. "Why did you follow me back here?"
"To make sure you didn't get hurt back there," a few reasons come to his mind he knows to keep, unable to communicate with Ella, to himself. "Also to say, no matter what happened back there I still want to find out more about you. Ella will cool down, as her human self."
Lonely and scared Filomena appreciates Vladimir's actions so she gestures to him with a wing, "you can come in. The doggy door is magnetized."
"Thank-you Filomena." Needing more strength than thought Vlad stumbles into the mansion. "Good seal."
"Yes." She pats the lounge chair, "please sit with me."
"Sure." Vladimir bounces over and onto the seat.
She places a wing on his, "what happened back there tells me Ella is more than a protective sister for you. I thought if she was willing to accept me, maybe find out if there could be something between us. Turns out there is, a great big wolf. And you two have a long history. I'd be crushed if after all this time you left for another. And just about got crushed."
"Me too," wondering where her thoughts are going he knows it's merely Ella's wolf. "I'm not sure what to say here. It all happened so fast. I've seen her like that but with you there maybe something else."
"Oh? What's that?" Surmising Vlad being male alone, his sexual conquests must be greater than her and Ella combined. "Does she normally chase women away on you?"
"It's more than you," with reassurance Vlad maintains eye contact, "neither of us had time to reply on her computer. You are still a mystery, even to me. I bet with the full moon Ella's been wandering a while. Coming home tired she would have smelled two things different." He sighs thinking the one may go to waste, "the cooked turkey. Ella would be upset for killing the turkey without her consent. A new female is all the wolf needed to get her hair up. I've lost a lot of clothes to that wolf other the years."
