Miles is having a hard time with Ella's history let alone still grappling with the idea of being a part time wolf, "Mongolians did you say? Are you going to say you're as old as Genghis Khan?"
"Oh god no, I'm not that old," Ella feels the almost fifty years difference too much, "we met one of his true descendants, taught us a thing or two, Kublai Khan. He had this odd intelligent quirky humor that Vlad enjoyed. Admitting the age with a sigh almost like she's revealing a secret, "my birth year is 1220 ad I am from Romania. Before common folk needed a last name." Able to tell they're contemplating Ella's curious to Miles reaction, "so Doc, how do I look for an almost nine hundred year old woman?"
The quip makes Lori smile, "barely a day over forty."
Astonished, Miles doesn't know what to say, "you're not even close to nine hundred, but wow. How many people in YOUR time wanted your blood to get longevity? And would it work on others? Taking some of what's in you and injected into another?"
"Okay Miles please don't go all D.C. dark world, mad scientist on me," Ella senses he's thinking about it. "This is something I must burden."
Miles surmises, "Vlad and this Filomena, are they in fact afflicted too? I saw them as people? Right?"
"Yes," easing mind over the admittance Ella detects wonder radiating from the pair. "Vlad was bitten before he met me by a vampire bat. So was Filomena. Because Vlad and I found each other we traveled together. She has been seeking him all these years. We change form at sunset, they into Vampire bats. Really, really big ones. And human she's a pretty little thing barely ninety pounds. How can I compete with all that? They were meant to find each other as Paval was suppose to be the one I met." Shaking the head slightly Ella sighs again, "men, always screwing things up."
Oh my god how sad. Lori hugs Ella again, "what a tragic story. I mean you think you have someone to live out life with and they leave when finding something more - compatible."
Taking the hug Ella almost starts to blubber, "thank you Lori. Hugs are so rare these days."
Minorly offended by the 'men' comment, Miles tries to give Ella a compliment, "I think you're prettier than Filomena. You certainly seem much more intelligent. And giving up a beautiful fox for a big vampire Bat? What is Vladimir thinking?"
Cherishing the sentiment Ella warmly smiles, "thank you Miles. But it is destiny. All these years Vlad and I have never been able to hold each other in our own arms. I do like getting my head stroked but come-on who doesn't." Ella huffs a sigh, "so here I am thinking about become a VEGAN of all things, to get as close to the next century as possible. See if people figure a way out of things. Guess I had the answer in me all along." Ella breaks the hug with an appreciative nod to Lori, "thanks."
"Oh your welcome Ella. I can't even imagine what you must be going through, or in there. I mean your mind and heart right now... This other entity I'm not sure what to say." Lori's curious if she could handle being a host. Live a long time and heal while healing others, could be useful. "Do you think what's inside you will aid us? And how? Do you have to sleep by a computer from now until whenever?"
Sniffing in deeply to clear the sinuses Ella shrugs, "might need to be tired or tranced." Becoming exhausted with all the excitement over the past week Ella crosses a couple fingers in hopes of it happening soon. "I'd like to hear, read what they've to say. I'm all creeped out. Like I can feel them crawling under my skin."
Lori shudders at the thought.
Wanting to help Miles offers, "I've never officially hypnotized someone, but I am willing to try... Was there something else on your mind that brought you here tonight? Was it about the transfusion?"
