My name is Obinna and I live with my grandpa in Kogi state. I am the only son of my parents and my parents are late and I have been staying with my grandpa for more than 18 years now and my grandpa has refused to tell me the reason behind my parents death.

My grandpa told me that my parents aren't from Kogi state but they were from imo state which makes Igbo by birth but when I asked him why we were living on the mountain top. The conversation is over for that day which makes me doubt my existence.

But today I am confident that he will tell me the reason behind my late parents death.

The blue sky was as clear as water, and a cool breeze blew across his face.

I knew that I was going to meet my grandpa after 18years in the city.

It all began today and I need to pack all my things and get ready to be back home for the holiday knowing fully well that I won't be able to mingle with my friends.

Most of them have their parents staying with them in the city and my house was built on a mountain hill in Igalamela-Odolu a Local Government Area in Kogi State.

So I couldn't imagine if my grandpa would agree to stay in the city but to no avail.

I won't be able to convince him to do so because I still love living with my grandpa on the mountain hills because I get to learn new things.

I was in a traveling bus with my bag on my lap while sitted.

The bus was filled up with both male and females in the bus.

The driver entered his bus and started driving after a minute the bus stopped at a checkpoint.

He gave the military personnel some cash and continued driving. We could see another checkpoint mounted on the road when we reached the military checkpoint.

The military personnel rushed to block the bus we were in with a wood that had sharp objects that can burst a tyre.

Our driver had no other choice than to apply brakes to avoid losing his tyre.

This almost led to an accident on the road but was averted when our driver appy his brake. Some of us in the bus screamed "Jesus" loudly but when the driver applied his brake the bus stopped before it could reach the military checkpoint.

The reason they shouted Jesus was because the traveling bus almost hit the military checkpoint. If care is not taken the driver might end up losing his life.

The military personnel rushed to the driver and gave him a heavy slap on his face and they dragged him out of the bus as the driver struggled to avoid more slaps and one of the military personnel cocked his gun and was ready to shoot anyone who misbehaved.

The military personnel who cocked his gun told us to come down from the bus.

We all obeyed him and rushed down from the bus. The military personnel forced us to raise our hands while trekking down the road.

One of the military personnel responded

"You dey mad ne, we go kill you here and nothing go happen."

A passer-by challenged the military personnel on duty and asked them why we were forced to raise our hands and what crime we committed, but the military personnel slapped him for questioning his authority.

Those who begged the military personnel were flogged and punished.

They force the driver to park his traveling bus. After parking the car two of the military personnel took the driver to meet their boss who was seated eating his food alone.
