Arriving at the mall, she dragged me into one of her favorite stores.

The lights were somewhat bright, and the walls were painted a creamy warm color. Mannequins dressed in the newest fashions were at the start of each aisle. It has such a warm feel to it and I couldn't help but find myself being drawn into this place.

"Welcome to my happy place! The only close clothing place with actually good clothing, high quality stuff with the most astronomical and outrageous prices known to mankind!"

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped as I saw the price of one of the bags on display. She really was not kidding when she said astronomical and outrageous prices known to mankind.

Dear god was I in for a ride. She sat me down in a changing stall, telling me that she would be back in about 15 minutes or so.

"Can't I come with?"

"No, you cannot. It will ruin the surprise and suck the fun out of it. Go do something productive."

Ding

"See, someone texted you. Go be a good little girl and reply to that!" she said before closing the stalls curtains, not giving me a chance to object.

I then pulled out my phone out of my pocket to see 2 unread messages from Allen.

"Paris, I'm sorry about earlier." - Sent at 8:47am

"I shouldn't have called you stubborn because of your own choices. As your husband, I should be supporting you, not childishly fighting you like this. To make up for my mistake, I made a reservation for two at Italian Cuisines at 6pm. Please be there so I can apologize properly." - Sent at 9:01am.

This worthless piece of shit, I thought to myself.

I sighed and replied, agreeing to meet him later.

After half an hour of waiting impatiently, about to get him and look for Deborah, she finally arrived with many things in hand. Everything from bags, to shoes, to clothes.

Not even giving me adequate time to process all that was in her hands, she dropped them on the side bench and took up a dress that caught my eye.

"Okay so - here we have this dress that I know you would adore. It has lace at the hip area and a little around the back, but I don't see that as a reason on why not to wear it and luckily for you, it comes with a pair of heels with adorable bows at the toes of it that go with this beauty. They weren't any good bags that go with this sadly and unfortunately but I'm sure you can find something in your huggeee walk-in closet at your home that goes with it."

Taking the dress from her hands, I pressed it against me in front of the mirror and she was right, I adored it so much. Everything to the lace to the bows at the end of the sleeves were simply amazing. I looked at the price tag and sighed.
