Week 2, day 8 of WWIV, 1 Day After Operation Lightning Rail

Somewhere over Europe, 1425 hours

Marcus Perspective P.O.V.

I take a deep breath and lean back in my seat. The Vagrant T-dolls are sitting in the other lane of seats on the plane. The ride was already 10 hours into our ride. The dread of going back to the Griffin base. I mean... I can handle the girls chewing me a new one for leaving on an assignment on very short notice. I am just dreading the number of combat reports and paperwork that I have to write. I'd rather listen and write some novels with DP-12, at least that gets my attention. I feel a nudge on my left shoulder.

Icepick: "Hey, oxide, are you excited to go back to your home base?

Marcus: "I'm more excited to have an actual functioning base instead of a small lot with tents."

Icepick: "That's true. Also, I know that you are still a Griffin Commander, but does Kryuger even allow the rest of us to roam around the base for a while?

Marcus: "Task Force Vagrant is a detachment force of Griffin, and the JSF, so my base is also your base.

Phoenix: "Well that a relief. I was worried that we would have to go through some hoops to avoid difficulty. Our jobs already hard enough."

Icepick: "Preaching to the choir on that one. Leach, Hound. How's the equipment holding up?"

Two more human operators walk around the equipment that is loaded inside of the plane, as well as check the guns of the T-dolls onboard. The twins the approach Icepick, one looking at their tac-pad while the other put a tool back in their tool pack.
