13: Chocolate Shares

"Thank you for inviting us, Editor Kwon," Ari said bowing to him while I did the same. "Thank you for joining us, Pomme." He said and she smiled before walking away.

"Jungkook, please don't disturb her much though. She has to meet her deadlines too." The Editor whispered and I scrunched my nose at him. "You only care about the webtoons, don't you?"

"I am her Editor. What else do you expect?" He said and I flashed him a fake smile before nodding and walking away toward Ari's car. I noticed her talking to Lim who was handing her something.

I quickly sped up to them and grabbed the bars of chocolate from his hand. Ari looked at me in surprise while I opened the wrapper and shoved the whole chocolate into my mouth. "Oh wow, thank you, Mr. Lim. I was so hungry."

"But we had breakfast just now," Ari said in confusion, her eyes set on the empty chocolate wrappers now. I saw Lim chuckling at us and I blinked before nodding my head at her. "My muscles require a lot of food, babe. Breakfast isn't enough."

"Here, I got two more. Have one for yourself, Mr. Jeon, and Pomme can have the other one." He said and she nodded before taking the chocolates. I looked at my Rolex on the wrist and then at Ari.

"We need to leave, baby. Let's go we are late." I said and grabbed her hand before making her take a seat in the passenger's seat and then glaring at Lim and walking over to the driver's seat myself.

I buckled my seatbelt and looked at Ari waving at Editor Kwon, Chi-won, and Mino at her side. I saw Lim waving there so I immediately started the engine and drove off.

Ari turned to peek at me before extending her hand and I turned to see the two chocolates in her hand. "You said that you are hungry. I took some chips from earlier. Do you want those? It is in the back seat with the promotional gifts."

"I am fine. It's alright. Do you want to have it?" I asked her and she shook her head while I took the chocolates from her. I unwrapped them and quickly ate everything that Lim gave her while driving on the highway.

I spotted a 24/7 store at the corner and decided to stop there since I felt bad for taking her chocolates. I parked there and Ari looked at me. "What do you want to do here?"

"Just want to buy something. Do you need something?" I asked and she shook her head at me. I smiled and got down the car before walking over to the store and buying 10 bars of chocolates and 2 boxes of assorted chocolates along with some salty snacks.

Walking back to the car I saw Ari trying to take pictures of the road on her phone. I sat in the driver's seat and she looked at me. I handed her the bag filled with chocolates and some other snacks. 

"What is in here?" She asked and opened the bag and her eyes widen. "Woah, Kookie! Chocolates? Thank you so much!" She said with a huge smile that melts my heart.

"You like chocolates that much?" I ask her and she nodded. "Like others like to drink coffee and tea, I like to eat chocolates. I love them."

"Then why did you give them to me earlier?" I asked her in confusion. "Because you were hungry."

I placed my hand on my chest and closed my eyes at her reply. "How did I manage to have an angel like you beside me?"

"Here, have some." She said giving me a bar of chocolate and I shook my head. "Now, you have them all. I bought it just for you."

"You can have-"
"Ari, just have it."

"Okay," she said and turned to start eating some while I looked at her enjoying the desserts I bought her. I smiled and stroked her hair before buckling my seatbelt.

Ari takes a seat beside me and tucks her legs underneath her body. "Now what?"

"Shh." My eyes roam back and forth across the first page. We sit in silence for probably twenty minutes, and the whole time, I could feel her getting as bored as she is embarrassed. 

She can't stop tapping on the back of the lounge until I reach out and press her hand flat on the cushion without interrupting my reading. 

I expect her to take her hand away but she doesn't, and I'm acutely aware of every spasm in my hand, the way my fingers involuntarily arch up between hers as if to pull her fingers down through mine. 

My thumb starts moving gently back and forth on the back of her hand, which makes my whole body feel like I'm standing outside in a lightning storm. Her fingers skim up mine and back down between them, and I don't totally remember how to breathe. 

I watch her swallow. My hand leaves to turn the page and doesn't go back to hers when I'm finished, which is the worst kind of relief to me. Finally, my eyes drop off the last page, and I stack the papers. 

She covers her face with her hands, and I grab her wrists to pull them back down. "Are you ready for the bad news?" I ask. "Fine," she snarls. 

I hold out my little finger for her. She swats it away before leaning back on the couch and glaring at me. "A kiss for a secret."

"I have never heard of this game," she says and I smirk before saying. "That is because it's exclusively ours."

Ardency shoots through my chest at the idea of something to just ourselves. Her cheeks flushed red and she looks away while I chuckle.

"I like this game already," I tell and she scoffs at me. I lean down and gently trace the end of her jaw. Ari lets out a tattered breath, and I gently turn her face back toward mine.

"I won't let anyone hurt you ever again. You have my word." I pledge and press my lips on hers. She doesn't react quickly but I could sense her hand slowly sliding to my waist and fisting the sides of my shirt.

I envelop my arm around her back and the other cupping her face, to deepen the kiss. I could feel her lips parting and before I could plummet deeper into this moment with her . . . 

Knocks. 

The clattering above pushed her into taking a step back from me, and a few moments later, Taehyung and Jimin climbed down into the room. Ari contrived to look at them, avoiding my stares. "Where is Jungkook?" Jimin asked. 

I scoffed, sexual frustration burning throughout my body, and cleared my throat, "Get out. I will be there in a few minutes." I state in clear displeasure and they nod before walking out of the room, without further questions.

I turn to Ari who is scratching her hair and then I stride toward her but she keeps her hands in front of her figure. "Bad news, bad news. You kissed me enough. Now the bad news."

I sighed and bounced my head at her but then became all serious before saying.

"Your dad called for me. He wants to see me."
