My eyes widened and so did Jimin's when Ari entered the room with Namjoon. She instantly started coughing vigorously because of the smoke in the room.
"Oh no, little shit. Wait," Namjoon said covering her face with his suit jacket and shoving her back to take her out of the room. "Hey, wait!"
I screamed and rushed to get out of the room to see Ari hitting Namjoon and him whimpering while glaring at her. "You stink like trash!" Ari declared while standing up straight.
"You are a little shit!" Namjoon said while glaring at her. "You are worse!" She argued but I walked to her.
"Hey, Ari!" I exclaimed while flashing a wide grin at her. "Hello, Jungkook. I brought some cookies for you. I made them myself." She said handing me the paper bag.
I sheepishly smiled at her before taking the paper bag and looking inside. "Hello, Ari!" I heard Jimin's voice. "Hello."
"Hey, little shit! Where is my cookie?" Namjoon asked and I looked up to find Ari scowling at him. "Bake some for yourself!"
"Okay, stop! Ari have you had your dinner?" I asked and she looked at me. "No, should we go to a restaurant nearby?" She asked and my heart melted at her question. I instantly bobbed my head.
"Come," I said and walked with her walking beside me, leaving Jimin and Namjoon behind.
There was thankfully no awkwardness between us. Maybe she was good with us being friends or I was good with hiding my real emotions. Or both. But it was fine as long as I can have her close to me like this.
We reached the lounge at the entrance and then my eyes fell upon the person I don't want to see in my life. She saw me and stood up.
She walked towards us while my smile dropped. Her eyes moved to Ari's figure beside me and then she beamed at me. "Why are you here, Bitna?" I asked her sternly.
"You weren't replying to my messages so I had no other option," Bitna said with a smile and looked over to Ari. "Who might you be?" She asked softly.
I saw Ari bow at her and smiled at her nervously. "I am Pomme," She told and looked at me innocently. I grinned softly at her and then looked at Bitna with my cold gaze.
"I don't have anything to talk about with you. Come, let's go, Pomme." I said while grabbing Ari's wrist and dragging her away. As we walk past Bitna, she called out for us. "I won't stop coming here, Jungkook."
I looked up at her before glaring at her. "I see that you are still angry at me so I will come here until you agree to meet me," Bitna said with a smile.
Ari slowly took my hand and released her hand and I turned to look at her in confusion. "It's okay. You can go and talk to her today. I will meet you later."
"No, I said you that we will have dinner-"
"Have a pleasant time with him, Miss. Nice to meet you." Ari cut me off while smiling at Bitna, unaware of her bad side.------------------------
"So? What do you want to say to me?" I asked, sitting at the table at a cafe with Bitna in front of me. "Who was that girl with you earlier? Your girlfriend?"
I scoffed and sipped on my coffee, irritated by the sudden interrogation by my ex at a random cafe when I could have had a pleasant dinner with the love of my life.
Bitna chuckled bitterly and looked at me. "It is so strange that you are looking at me with those angry eyes." She said and I rolled my eyes. "If you don't have anything to say in particular, I'll just get up," I said before getting up from my chair.
"I miss you so much," Bitna said, with her slightly raised voice and I sat back on the chair to stare at her blankly. "Did you ever think of me?" She asked and I silently looked at her with a temperate face.
"I know that I am being shameless. Acting like this after what I did to you." She said and I looked at her seriously before speaking. "I thought I made myself clear to you, Bitna. When I say it's the last time, it really is the last time. But you still chose him."
"I was young. That is why I preferred someone who could share the same pain. But in reality, it frayed me down. You said it would be alright and it would be fine. And I missed that. You are the one that I need, Jungkook."
"Bitna, I was young as well. We were of the same age. And you cannot do this with people. You cannot win or discard people based on your needs." I said and she looked down. I took a deep breath and continued. "Also, there is someone I like. I love her a lot."
She instantly looked up at me with a surprised look on her face. "Who? That girl from earlier?" She asked with a sad face and I nodded. "Yes, it's her."
"What about her? Does she feel the same for you?" She asked and my heart fell at her question.
I don't know. I am not sure. I don't know if she likes me back.
"The important thing is that I am not going back to you," I enunciated while looking around, hiding the uneasiness in me. "Just accept my feelings then. I cannot just give up my feelings for you because you like her." She spoke and I fisted my hand while taking a deep breath.
"When you grow tired of your crush, you will look at me one day, right?" She questioned and I glared at her before shaking my head. "I won't grow tired. Even if we get further apart, I won't grow tired of her."
"Then I will keep my eyes on you too. I don't think I will become tired either." She said and I sipped on the coffee before speaking. "Don't you think that is an obsession?"
"It seems to me that we are the same though. You and I. Unrequited love is nothing more than a selfish thought." she said calmly with a slight smile and I looked at her with a questioning gaze. "You don't even remember anything from our 3 years together, Bitna. How are you sure that you love me?"
"What do you mean?" She asked and I chuckled bitterly. "The webtoon artist that I was always obsessed with. I always used to tell her about you. Don't you remember her?"
"I do. She used to write Mafia comics and you used to rant about her all the time." She said while nodding. "Why did you think I was so drowned in a new comic artist than spending my time with you?" I asked her and she tilted her head before answering me.
"Because I was cheating on you behind your back and was never giving attention to you?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I tried loving you in the beginning, Bitna. I was happy that you agreed to date me but I realized that you didn't love me ever. I used to try my best to comfort you and make you fall for me yet you loved someone else while we were in a relationship.
Our relationship became so toxic that I searched for other ways to stay happy. I found Pomme and fell in love with her comics. Those comics were a comfort place to me whenever I used to feel sad when you ditched our dates. I gradually started obsessing over the artist's works and finally, I met her in real life.
The artist who would write such action-packed comics with a comforting and motivating storyline must be a comforting person herself. I want to know her in real life. These were my thoughts but I was wrong. She is even more comforting in real life.
So our relationship, Bitna, has nothing to do with my feelings for her. We were always toxic, to begin with. Thus, even if Pomme doesn't like me back and we are not together," I said and looked up at her before asserting myself.
"I would still never look at you."
