29: Peaceful Sleep

Jungkook's POV

I was sitting in my office while deleting the videos that were recorded using the camera fixed in Ari's living room by the stalker. I fisted my hands, trying to control my anger.

"How much of an obsessed freak can this mother fucker be?" I said when a notification popped up on my screen.

pporappippomme started a live.

I quickly pressed on the notification to see Ari doing a live while laying on her bed. Only her face was being shown and I could see her pale face still smiling at the camera.

"I ate kimchi fried rice tonight. I came here to tell you all how much I love you." She said and smiled at the camera which gave me shivers. I don't feel good about her vibe right now.

"I am not a bad person. I am sorry." She apologized, probably after reading a hate comment and I frowned at her.

"Why are you saying bad things about me?" she then asks. "What did I do to deserve this?" Ari responds to live comments while lying on her side while still putting on a gleeful face.

I can see her sadness. I stood up from my seat and grabbed my jacket before walking out while still watching the live stream on my phone.

I read some of the fans being worried when Ari showed up silent and tearful in a live stream. I was driving the car and noticed that she did not utter a word for more than seven minutes now, only staring at the camera with a sad expression.

Ari became teary-eyed and looked distressed, both her eyes turned red and swollen from tears. I grew anxious that something terrible has happened to Ari.

The silence is creeping me out.

I sped up the car and controlled the bad feeling growing inside of me. "Yes, I love Jungkook a lot. I love you too. Thank you for loving me." She said while smiling. "Okay, I need to go now. It is night. You all need to sleep. Bye~" She said before ending the live stream.

I took my phone from the phone stand on the dashboard and was about to lock it when another notification popped up. My car stopped in the traffic and I clicked on the notification.

It was Ari's Instagram, posting about love and hate. The photo reads, "What goes around comes around. Who did I love and hurt? Who loved me and hurt me?" while her caption says, "To live with only love".

My eyes widened and gripped the steering wheel hard. I called Ari several times and she didn't pick up. My eyes became teary, thinking all sorts of negative things but after the 8th ring she finally picked up and I exhaled deeply.

"Ari, why the fuck didn't you pick up the call? I was so worried." I screamed over the phone and heard her sigh. "I was preparing for bed Jungkook. I feel tired after everything today. I want to sleep now." She said with a weak voice.

"What was the live stream right now? Why did it look like you were crying?" I asked and she chuckled. "What are you saying? I just read some comments. That's it." She said and I shook my head.

"I was worried sick, Ari. I thought you were-"
"I love you, Jungkook." She cut me off and I smiled.

"I love you too, baby," I replied and she hummed. "Say I love you, Ari. Not baby. I want to hear you call my name before I go to sleep."

"I love you so much, Ari. I want to spend my life with you, have kids with you, visit the world with you, kiss you under the moon light and cuddle you to sleep every night." I said and heard her sigh deeply.

"I feel sleepy. Good night, Jungkook." She said and before I could say her that I was on my way to her home, she hung up.

I entered the password and entered her house. The home was dark and I slowly walked up to her room. I creaked it open to see Ari sleeping on her bed peacefully with a smile.

I walk up to her and sit at the edge of her bed with a smile. I held her hand and my smile dropped.

Her hand is so cold.

I stood up and quickly ran to turn on the lights in the room and gasped at the bottle of sleeping pills fallen on the nightstand next to her phone.

I run to it and see the bottle which I have never seen at her place before this. I took a hold of the bill beside it which was dated today meaning she bought it tonight.

I grabbed the bottle and only a few pills were left in it meaning she consumed the rest of the pills at once.

I looked at Ari in terror and sat beside her, shaking her body and my heart dropped when her body was freezing cold. "Ari?" I asked rubbing her hands to make some heat but her body was lifeless.

I quickly picked her up and rushed out of her bedroom and then her apartment and I saw the guard down looking at us with big eyes. "What happened to Pomme?"

"Uncle, please take out my car keys from my pocket and unlock my door!" I yelled and he obeyed.

I couldn't even feel the tears that were soaking my face because of the anxiousness in my heart.

He opened the back door and I laid her figure on the backseat before quickly running to the driver's seat to start the engine and driving the car while sobbing badly.

"Why did you do this, Ari?"

"What happened?" My parents came running to us along with Ari's father and I stood up. "I found her lifeless on the bed and brought her here," I said while sobbing hard.

"She attempted suicide? But why? She was all happy a few days ago." my mom asked in concern and Taehyung answered beside me. "I watched her most recent live stream a few hours ago. She was asking the world to cut her some slack, all while putting on a happy face for the camera."

"This industry is too cruel." Editor Kwon said beside me. "What are you all doing as an agency, huh?" Namjoon yelled at Editor and Ari's dad held his collars. "I won't let her work with you anymore!"

"Calm Down, Jiho!" My dad pulled him back while I cried, feeling completely vulnerable.

"The police were here. A note was found at the scene reportedly describing her state of mind, but police said it is neither a suicide letter nor a diary entry." Jimin said and added. "It said, to everyone who loved me, I am grateful. Please, move on. Don't cry."

"I am going to burn this city!" Yoongi snarled. "I am going to burn this country!" Namjoon added. "Burn the Neon Building!" Ari's dad said to his men and they nodded but my dad stopped him. "Don't! Wait! Jiho! Don't be stupid!"

"Jungkook, the media is here. They are asking questions." Hobi said approaching us. I nodded before saying.

"I have something to say them too."
