In a peaceful world like Disney Castle, being a knight was more of an honorary title than going into any real battles. There were times when your strength was borrowed to fight off some odd enemy or bandit on the outskirts of town, but most other times it meant helping Queen Minnie clean up the library. Not that Ven was complaining. He liked spending time with the queen. It was a bit like having Aqua around again.

"Ventus, could you help me reach the box on top of that shelf? I'm afraid I'm not tall enough."

"Sure thing, Queen Minnie."

It was quiet work to help Minnie, however Ven never felt unfulfilled either. This all just felt right to him. Besides, attending to the queen had its own challenges as well- like also not being tall enough to reach the top of a tall shelf. The tips of his fingers could just barely graze the box, and even then it only seemed to push it further away.

"Be careful," Minnie told him. "I think it's just a box of photographs- nothing to strain yourself over."

But that only made Ven more determined to reach them. Getting an idea, Ven called out his Keyblade and carefully positioned it to point at his feet.

"Gravity," he commanded. Soon after his feet started to envelop in a deep purple mist. Minnie let out a gasp of surprise as Ven started to float slightly in the air. Determination was the only motivator to prevent himself from looking down.

"Got it!" he happily declared once he had secured the box with both hands. Due to no longer holding his Keyblade, the magic surrounding his feet started to fade. It was on rather shaky grounds as his feet connected with the floor once more.

"That is not how you use Gravity magic, dear." Minnie gently admonished as Ven handed the box to her.

"I'm sorry if I worried you," he genuinely replied. "Maybe I'm just curious to see what's in this box."

Minnie gave a small laugh. "They're just photographs. See, look." After saying this, the queen placed the box on the library's only desk. She carefully peeled off the top to show several binder books. Minnie took one of the books out, opened it up, and there Ven could see the photographs within. Many of them appeared to be in black and white.

"Oh wow!" Ven marveled. He took a different photo album out of the box and started to go through it as well. The one he had seemed to have a lot of photos with Mickey and Minnie in them. There were photographs of them together in the square, another had Mickey show Minnie a funny red car in front of a yellow house, and there was even one from when Minnie was still a princess.

Ven tilted his head a little as he looked over the younger princess Minnie. Not much had really changed about her. Her cheeks were a bit rosier, and the hair between her ears was styled into a cute little swirl. The primarily pink dress she wore was well tailored, and on her shoulders she wore a long purple cape with a fur lining. In the photograph, Minnie was honoring a young Mickey, Donald, and Goofy with medals of honor in a large training yard. Ven had to squint before realizing that the training yard she was in didn't look anything like the one here. In fact, the general arrangement didn't fit with anything he had seen in this world yet. It sounded weird, but the colors just weren't as saturated.

Then an idea came to Ven that seemed too funny to be true.

"Queen Minnie," Ven teased in order to get her attention, "Are you from a different world?"

"Oh shush," she told him, taking the album from him, "Don't give all my secrets away."

Ven laughed. One of Master Eraqus's most hammered in lessons was that there was a world order. No one could travel to another world and tell the existence of others to a native of the former. It could cause complications. It might even make the wrong person do something terrible. And here was Queen Minnie, a full on world hopper. Or used to be.
