Chapter 13: Under Attack

Hi, it's been a while! Sorry for not updating, I was really sick to the point that it was worrying. I think my immune system is completely ruined, to be honest. Being a starseed, it was always pretty bad, but ever since I had COVID a few months ago I think it was almost completely wiped out!

However, given how my symptoms were, it leads me to believe that what I had was more than a cold. Apparently, starseeds are constantly under attack by dark forces trying to sabotage our missions. They make us sick and give us really bad cases of anxiety and depression.

I did indeed have a really bad depressive episode during my time being sick- I couldn't get my work done, I was stressed, and in general I just kind of wanted to die. I'm still coming out of it, slowly but surely, but I know my schoolwork has suffered tremendously. Honestly I'm not sure if it's even worth continuing at university anymore, it'll be a miracle if I can make it out of this semester with all my scholarships intact.

I also had a lot of strange symptoms I'd never had before while I was sick- the most obvious of which was frequent nosebleeds. Whenever I actually did end up going to class, I had to stash a miniature tissue box in my backpack because I never knew when I'd get a humongous nosebleed out of nowhere! I had enormous, terrible headaches as well, almost constantly.

Between all the headaches and blood loss, I started getting dizzy spells which made it extremely difficult to navigate my day to day life. As if all these physical symptoms weren't enough, I started hallucinating bugs and sounds! It was truly miserable.

I'm mostly better now, but these dizzy spells still keep happening even though I'm not having headaches or nosebleeds anymore. All this sickness started around the same time that I started realizing what my mission was, too, which leads me to believe that there's actually something trying to stop me from completing it.

I'm not entirely sure what, but it looks like I'll need to start learning about curse breaking and protection ASAP, especially since some effects are lingering. Hopefully I don't end up losing more blood. I'll keep you all updated if anything else happens!
