Dream fell asleep around George, his tail resting on the brunettes lap as he laid behind george on the steps- sleeping happily.

George laid comfortably, watching tv from afar.... Thank god he decided to get a patio tv.
"Thankfully the pools heated." He pet dreams tail, watching the tv.

Dream was laying on his chest before rolling onto his back- curving around George.
"Mm.." he stretched his arms out, cuddling closer to George.

George looked down- how can a merman be comfortable sleeping like that?!?! His body looks twisted and bent.
"Jesus.." he continued to pet dreams tail.

Dream began to.. purr..?

George looked over, seeing Dream laying half in the water- his face sticking out as he purred.
"You can purr?" He patted dreams chest.
"That's cute."

"Mmm.." Dream squinted his eyes, yawning as he woke up.
"Hellooo..." he smiled, stretching his arms.
"Sorry, I got tired."

"How are you comfortable?" George chuckled, seeing the twisted merman.
"That looks so uncomfortable right now." He tilted his head.

Dream just smiled, twisting his upper body faintly- stretching.
"Mm.. it's comfy." He yawned.

"How?!" George looked around him.
"Your massive yet your curled into a small ball practically." His attention turned to dreams tail.

"We merman live in small caves.. so we fit in tight spaces.." Dream reached for George, kneading his back.
"So I'm used to sleeping like this ." He hummed.

"Cute" George cupped dreams cheeks.
"Are you alright though..?" He wanted to make sure one final time.

"I am."
Dream cupped georges cheeks.
"Am I allowed to kiss you?" He didn't want to cross the boundaries.

George rolled his eyes, cupping dreams cheeks before pulling himself into the kiss.
"Mhm.." he mumbled quietly.

Dream was shocked but gladly kissed back, pressing into the kiss as he adjusted his body- pulling George closer to him.

George jumped a little- shocked at dreams sudden movement.

Dream gripped George's thighs, pulling them onto his.. lap..? I guess you could say... continuing to kiss the brunette.

George was shocked at the boldness of this merman... who knew someone was so bold..?
"Wow.. your really enjoying this." He back up faintly, resting his hands on dreams shoulder.

"I am getting used to it so I can be better." Dream smiled, feeling a boost of confidence.
"I want to be the best connection I can." He hummed.

"Y'know- on the surface it's called a boyfriend." George tilted his head, sliding off dreams lap as he stood next to Dream.
"Not connection"

Dream was confused before he lowered himself into the water.
"I don't like the sound of that-" he didn't like the sound 'friend' he didn't understand what it truly meant.. he wanted to be George's lover.

George had a confused look.
"What do you mean?" He tilted his head.
"We are boyfriends are we not..?"

Dream shook his head- they were more then friends- he didn't understand.
"Not boyfriends- connection.. difference"

"o-oh." George felt his heart sink... so it was two different things.
"My- my bad." He anxiously chuckled, back up a slight bit.

Dream was confused- he didn't understand.
"Can we continue hugging?" He smiled, holding his arms out.
"I enjoy it.."

"I uh.. I think I might need a minute." George
Gave Dream a soft smile, making his way out of the pool.
"I'm just gonna get a glass of water.." he made his way towards the room.

Dream perked up, swimming after George towards the room.
"Can I come?" He wanted to go explore with George.

"Not.. not this time." George hurtfully chuckled, rubbing under his eye.
"I'll be right back." He gave Dream a soft smile before walking into his room.
"5 minutes tops."

Dream knew that look- he saw the faint tears in George's eyes.. why was he crying?
"Wait.."
But before he spoke- George had already walked off.

Dream quickly began to stress- he didn't understand.. he wanted to understand.
"Wait! Come back for a moment....." he mumbled, looking around.

"I haven't even left yet." George looked back, seeing Dream now upset.
"Why do you want me to come back already..?" He rubbed his eyes.

"I made you upset, I want to fix it." Dream looked up at George.
"What did I do..?" His gaze softened.
"I wanna know."

"Nothing." George shook his head, crouching down.
"Don't worry Dream." He hummed.

Dream swam up, putting his face in front of George.
"What did I do." He knew he did something.

"Nothing- I just had a misunderstanding." George softly smiled, shaking his head.
"You did nothing." He was clearly holding in his emotions.
"It was my fault."

"Explain it to me please." Dreams gaze softened.
"I want to understand feelings more so I can help fit in on the surface."

"I thought we were boyfriends- and I didn't realize we weren't-" George rubbed the back of his neck, awkwardly laughing.
"And I went too far-" he was cut off by the blonde.

"But I don't want to be only friends- I want to be a connection.." Dream scrunched his nose, looking up.
"I don't understand why you want to only be boy friends."

George blinked- soon realizing what Dream meant- feeling like an absolute idiot in that moment... he forgot they have different meanings.
"Dream-" he broke out into a fit of laughter, shaking his head.
"On the surface... boyfriend is practically a connection in our world.. that means lovers.."

Dreams jaw dropped faintly- realizing how dumb he was and the mistake.
"I take it back, I like that word." He pulled himself on the ledge of the pool.

George felt like an idiot.
"I thought I told you already..?" He hummed softly, trying not to laugh.
"I'm sorry-"

"Can I come with you to get water then..?" Dream had a soft look, his smile growing.
"I want to walk around." He swayed his tail side to side.

"Yes yes- I'll get you some clothes." George ruffled dreams hair, standing up.
"I'll be back."
