"In here!" Lindsey said loudly and after a minute, his girlfriend walked in to the guest room where he and Stevie were. "Lisa, this is..."

"Stevie, of course! Lindsey mentioned you would be staying here." Lisa smiled genuinely. "It's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too." Stevie said shyly. At that moment she felt like she didn't belong here at all.

"I don't know much, but it sounds like you've been having it pretty tough lately." Lisa looked at the other woman sympathetically. "You know, I'll go find something for you to wear."

"You don't have to, really."

"No, it's okay. I'll be back in a sec!"

"Why are you breaking up with her again?" Stevie asked, when they were left alone. "She saw me half naked in bed with you and she's fine with it."

"You're not naked and we're just chatting. I know, she's great, but she's not the one for me. It's nice to watch a movie or go out and have diner, but that's what it is. I see her more as a friend."

"You're a dumbass, you know that?"

Lindsey started laughing and before he could say anything, Lisa came back, with a pair of jeans and a simple white tank top. "These should fit you."

"Thank you, I appreciate it." Stevie took the clothes and laid them on the bed.

"What were the fantastic news then?" Lindsey reminded and Stevie felt she shouldn't be there, as if she was intruding, but before she got to sneak out, Lisa's excitement returned.

"Oh, yes!" She clapped her hands together and then sat down on the edge of the bed. "Remember when a few weeks ago I met with a representative from a modeling agency?"

"Roughly, yes."

"She wanted to see me again today, she told me I got the job!"

"That is amazing news, Lis!" Lindsey smiled, giving her a hug. Deep down inside he was almost sure she was going to tell him something a lot more serious.

"Although, there is a but..."

"What's that?"

"They want me to sign a six month contract."

"How is that bad?"

"The agency is based in New York... I would be spending the majority of my time there."

"I see." Was all Lindsey could think of. "But it's your dream job."

"I know I should have discussed it with you first, Lindsey, but... I said yes, I signed the papers already."

"Great! I'm glad you did, it was the right thing to do, Lisa."

"What about us?"

It seemed that only now he remembered Stevie. "Can we talk about it later tonight?"

"Of course." She nodded and stood up. "I'll go shower."

"Okay." Alone again, Stevie looked pointedly at Lindsey. "What now?"

"You can't break up with her now."

"Why?"

"Because she's got a job offer of her dreams and she couldn't be happier. You can't kill her excitement now."

"Then do it when she comes back after half a year? No, Stevie. I don't want to drag this out any longer. And now with you here..."

"Am I suddenly a problem? Because if I am, I'm leaving right now, Lindsey."
