Stevie was sitting in the rocking chair, with their newborn daughter, singing her to sleep after she fed the baby. If she thought Ernest was a perfect mixture of her and Lindsey, Anna looked even more as if she was exactly half her mother and the other half her father. Stevie knew her girl was asleep for a while now, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from Anna's beautiful little face. She got up after a couple more minutes and pressed a kiss to the baby's forehead and lay her down in the crib, covering her daughter with a soft cream colored blanket.

Lindsey had Ernest sitting in front of him on the floor in the living room, as he was attempting to play his guitar, but the boy seemed utterly mesmerized by the instrument, strumming the strings with his palm, then sitting back and clapping excited.

"What are you calling that, son?" Lindsey laughed, continuing playing whatever came to mind.

"Mama!"

"Mama? Hm... I've already written a song called after her."

"Mama!" Ernest shrieked again and then Lindsey saw Stevie coming into the room.

"Oh. I thought he was naming a song."

"He sure seems to be loving your guitar." She said, scooping up their son in her arms. "Are you going to give me a kiss, baby?" Ernest slapped his both little hands to Stevie's cheeks, making her wince a little, but then he leaned in and gave her a big sloppy kiss. She kissed his cheek before letting him stand on his feet again.

"Do I get some love too?" Lindsey stood up, putting his guitar away.

"I'm afraid of giving you any, because I already had to have two of your babies."

"Wasn't too bad, was it? We could try for another one. Shall we go for twins this time?"

"No, thank you!" She shook her head, relishing in his embrace. They shared a brief kiss, as Ernest literally pushed them away from each other. "No need to be jealous, sweetie." Stevie laughed, kneeling to the boy's level. "Are you hungry?" She asked Lindsey, smoothing Ernest's hair out as she had just messed it up.

"You know I always am." He wiggled his eyebrows, receiving an eye roll. "Sure, I'm hungry for food too."

Stevie left her men, going to the kitchen to prepare something to eat. She turned on the radio while working, singing along to whatever song she knew, throwing in some dance moves as well. Lindsey came into the kitchen and couldn't hold back a laugh.

"Oh my God!" She gasped, her cheeks red from embarrassment. "How long have you been watching me?"

"I swear, I just entered."

"I'm so embarrassed right now." She covered her face, as he walked up and pulled her in a hug.

"Don't be silly. It's fine, you were having fun."

"God..." She shook her head. "I'm never getting lost in music like that ever again."

"You're overreacting, honey." Lindsey kissed her temple. "How can I help?"

"You can set the table for dinner."

And that was what he did. Once they finished eating, Lindsey offered to clean up also and Stevie was watching him with a smile on her face. Things had changed so much from when they first were together. That Lindsey would have never washed the dishes or did anything for that matter. She felt happy and so lucky.

Later that evening, they decided to spend it in front of the TV, it had been some time since they could enjoy a quiet family night. Anna asleep on Lindsey's chest, Ernest cuddled up by Stevie's side, they left the first thing being shown on the TV on, not really paying attention to the film. Lindsey took Stevie's hand, entwining their fingers as she gave him a little smile.

"I had lost hope, you know." He said. "I thought when we broke up, we were over for good. I tried settling for the next best thing, only that there wasn't any other for me. You still occupied my thoughts all the time. I would walk down the street and see a woman with long blond hair and I'd think it was you. I'd almost run and call your name, but then I always stopped knowing it was someone else and that I probably needed serious help. You just... You've always been it for me, Steph."

"Are you going to break up with me?"

"What?" He frowned, then shook his head. "No, of course not! I simply want to tell you how much you mean to me."

"Why?"

"Because why not?" She stayed silent, letting him speak. "I most likely have told you all of it already and I'm repeating myself, but even though, I still want you to know. I want to keep going on and on about it, until you get sick of hearing it."

"I will never, Linds. Never." She squeezed his hand and he gave her a peck on the lips.

"I'm thankful for so many things that you've given me, Stevie, but I'm most thankful for these two precious little angels. I've only ever imagined being a father to the children whose mother was you. There was no other option. When Ernest runs to our room in the morning, jumping onto bed, waking us up with kisses and cuddles and now looking at Anna, at how she's constantly smiling too now... It melts my heart. I couldn't be happier."

"Why are you making me cry?" Stevie asked, teary eyed.

"Well, that wasn't my intention." Lindsey laughed softly, managing to put his arm around her, without waking up their daughter. "Just know that I love you. We didn't have it easy, we had to fight to get where we are today, we had to go through hell to get back together, get married and have our babies, but I wouldn't change a thing. It was wroth fighting for. You were worth fighting for."

"It's always been you too, Lindsey." She sniffled, laying her head on his shoulder. "I knew I could never be happy if you weren't by my side. I thank you for finding me, for getting me out of that hellhole, for taking care of me, for reconciling me with my family, for marrying me, for making me a mother. I thank you for everything you've done. You are my other, my better half, you complete me."

Saying the most beautiful things to each other could never truly express how they felt. Actions had always spoken louder than words. He gripped her chin gently, tilting his head to one side as he leaned in, pressing his lips against her. It didn't have to be explosive, no fireworks were needed, to channel the love through which they held for one another. The simplest touch of lips was enough to say everything they couldn't in words.
