Update. I still haven't met my soulmate, which isn't a surprise to me anymore. I'm contemplating on taking a trip around the world since I somehow convinced myself they live on the other side of the world.
The moment I step into school I knew that I had forgotten what day it was. If I would have known it was Valentine's Day I wouldn't have come to school at all.
My locker honestly looked tempting just to hide in all day. I'm small enough, I'd probably fit.Arms wrapping around me from behind brings me out of the deep daze I was caught up in. I turn around to greet him as he lets go of me. "Hey, uh, so I was thinking." He starts, leaning against the locker beside mine. "Since we're like two of the only people without a soulmate yet, maybe we could do something... together." I watch as Bad's face begins to heat up, causing me to smile at the thought. "I don't know..." I sign, attempting to hide my red face with my locker door.
"I just thought, because it's a hard day for the both of us, so why don't we spend it together?" He explains further, stuttering nervously the entire time. He stays silent for awhile after that as I continue to organize my stuff into my locker. "Hey! I just got another idea!" He breaks the silence with a genuinely excited smile. "What if we do reverse Valentines Day activities?"
His words catch my attention as I close my locker, and lock it up. My eyebrows knit together in confused curiosity."Like, what if we go eat somewhere that is the complete opposite of romantic, and watch movies that you would normally watch on Christmas or Halloween." He explains. I couldn't help but smile at his idea. I nod my head in acceptance. "Really?!" I shake my head again, this time with an even bigger open mouth smile while giggling at his response.
"Then it's a date..." He concludes. "Or- a- reverse date!" He corrects himself. I nod and continue to giggle.
On my way to our first class the realization hits me like a strong gust of cold wind.
Did Bad just ask me out?!~~~~
I smile at the array of sweets and boxed mixes. "Ok, so we've got four non-valentines colours of frosting, three kinds of non-valentines shaped and coloured sprinkles, four non-valentines coloured baking mixes of Angel food cake, muffins, cupcakes, and chocolate cake!" I stand there watching as bad showed me everything he had gotten. "Oh yeah! There is also lots of non-valentines coloured or shaped candy!" He adds, pulling up a plastic grocery bag onto the counter. Once he's done he looks over to me, taking in my wide-eyed shocked expression.
"You good, Zak?" Bad asks with a giggle. I nod, still in shock. "You really went all out" I sign. "Of course! I mean, it is a special occasion... I mean! Like not special, but also it is worldwide, and we are basically on a-" He freezes. "We're hanging out! This has to be fun!" He finishes his little rant, making my smile grow wide.
He's cute when he rambles."Anyways! Where would you like to start?" He asks, walking around the island. I grab the muffin mix, it was blue berry flavoured. "Ah, you know me too well." He smiles, getting a bowl to dump the mix in.

Muffin mix and batter covered the counters, and a bit of the floor.
"I forgot how messy you are..." Bad observes, looking around the messy kitchen, our freshly baked goods sitting on the table. His words make me giggle, covering my mouth with my hand since I was chewing. I took it upon myself to taste test everything first, and it all came out delicious.I look up at him, just finishing my second blueberry muffin.
"What are you laughing at?" He raises an eyebrow. All I do is point at the icing on his face and giggle.
"What?!" He laughs, walking towards the closest mirror, which was in the front hall.
"Oh, I see." He doesn't wipe it away, just walks towards me with a tub of blue icing. My eyes widen, quickly getting out of my chair to run for my life. I run around to the other side of the kitchen island, watching carefully as he takes a dollop of icing in his fingers. Slowly shaking my head I back away, bracing myself for what I knew was about to come.I squeal, running around the island as he gets closer. I shriek as he grabs me from behind, pulling me into his chest and wiping the icing from his hand onto my cheek. I laugh uncontrollably, groaning at the feeling of the thick sticky substance all over my face. I keep my face scrunched up, my eyes closed right as I expect another handful of icing to end up on my face. A second of silence goes by before I open my eyes, looking up to see Bad looking down at me, his arms still around me. My face turns a bright red in embarrassment, leaning forward and rubbing my face on his chest, coving him hoodie in icing too.
"Eww!" He exclaims, loosening his grip on me. My laughing drowned out the sound of the door opening. I look over at Bad to see him staring at the door embarrassed."Did I interrupt something?" Bad's dad chuckles. "N-no dad! Just- cleaning up!" Bad explains as he looks over at me, icing still smeared all over my face, and his hoodie. His dad looks at us with a suspicious expression, not believing it for a second. "Ok... well, try to refrain from covering yourselves in even more icing." He laughs, walking away. We look at each other stunned and embarrassed.
"Here." Bad reaches over and rips off a square of paper towel. "Don't want your face getting stained blue." He laughs, handing me the paper towel. I smile, taking it and wiping the icing off of my face.
I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend Valentine's Day, but, the more I thought about it I couldn't help but feel heartbroken. This may be a date, but it doesn't mean anything. We aren't soulmates...
