Chapter 9: Risk
Season 5 Episode 16: Profiles
*Trigger Warning*

Isabella walked up the stairs into the bullpen, adjusting the long sleeve on her left arm that was bothering her. She ran a hand through her hair and let out a sigh.

"Morning, sunshine!" Kim greeted her with a huge grin, approaching Isabella.

"Morning," Isabella replied, her voice cracking.

"Geez, did you have a rough night?" Kim asked, following her into the locker room.

"Yeah, I went out with some friends last night," Isabella said, unlocking her locker and placing her bag inside before hanging up her jacket.

"Where did you guys go?" Kim asked, sitting down on the bench.

"I don't remember exactly, but it was somewhere in River North, underground," Isabella said as she secured her badge and holster around her waist.

"I think I know where you went. I've been dying to go there with some friends," Kim said, following her out.

"Hey, next time, you and me, with some of my girlfriends. I think you guys would get along really well," Isabella offered with a smile.

"Really?" Kim's eyes lit up.

"Of course," Isabella said, sitting down at her desk. She smiled at Kim before turning her attention to the screen, where Trudy was preparing for an interview that morning.

Trudy was a nervous wreck, shooting her usual dirty looks at everyone. Isabella chuckled just as a beeping sound came from the screen, and suddenly, everything went black.

"Everyone, be quiet. Platt's on TV," Kevin said, turning up the volume.

"Betty is sitting down to discuss the new friendly face of the Chicago PD with Sergeant Trudy Platt."

"What a friendly face," Adam whispered, making Isabella chuckle at Trudy's disgusted expression.

"Thank you, Sheri. I'm so excited to be here today with Sergeant Trudy Platt from the 21st District..."

"She couldn't possibly hate this anymore," Jay said, laughing, holding a bag of chips.

"Thank you so much for coming this morning," the host continued.

"It's my pleasure. I'm ha— I'm happy to be here," Trudy said, nodding her head.

"Oh, this is like Christmas," Kim said, smiling at the TV.

"In the neighborhoods that they serve, combating crime problems together along with—" Trudy began, when the sound of rapid beeping interrupted.

"Is everything okay?" the host asked.
