I slowly close my laptop; I will have to print it off later. I really miss her. But right now I have school to attend to, behind in English so I have to go in early to get help from Mr. Thompson. As I begin to stand up my mum, Kath pokes her head around the corner, "You all ready for school Darl? I will drop you on my way to work." I sigh. Picking up my plain old school bag for the millionth time and began walking out. Mittens jumps down off my desk and gently rubs up against my leg purring.
"Sorry Mittens, I can't stay I have school...again." I ruffle the fur on his head before walking out and hearing my mum beep the horn. "Calm down mum! I'm coming!" I yell out, quickly running through the kitchen and grabbing my lunch and some money off the bench. I jump into the car and realise I left my laptop on my desk. "Damn it" I whisper under my breath.
"What's wrong Sweetie?" She asks giving me a concerned look before returning her eyes to the road. I let out a sigh.
"I left my laptop on my desk, I have my USB but I was going to use the school printer to print my letter for Melody." I shove my lunch into my bag and the money into my pocket.
"Well... I have my lunch break, I can come drop it off for you." She says as we pull up out to front, she gives me a reassuring pat on my leg. Before leaning over and giving me a light kiss on the cheek. "Have a good day" I open the door and step out. I wave goodbye as she drives off, I hear someone calling my name but before I can even finish turning around I am crashed into by a small pixie girl that goes by the name of Harmony. I see Rykeir walking up slowly laughing; I peel Harmony off me enough to get my arms to push her away.
"Harmony, how many times do I have to warn you not to attack people?" he says as he wraps his arms around her and pulls her to his chest. She struggles as she tries to escape. We start laughing at her, which just makes her angrier. Rykeir can't see her face slowly growing a bright red.
"Shit! I'm meeting Mr Thompson for early morning tutoring." I yell out as I run as fast as I can to the English room. I see Mr standing with his arms crossed out the front and his usual frown.
"Well if it isn't my favourite student...late yet again." His frown deepens, I walk past with my head down and sit down at one of the many computer set up around the edge of the room. After logging in and setting up my draft to show Mr Thompson. He sits down reading through nodding every now and then before looking back at me. "It's going quite well. Your writing is improving. This assignment is a definite B maybe even B+ just a few grammar issues and some words are a bit harsh, you aren't in a debate it's just explaining your opinion. But overall it's very well done. Just print it off and I will hand you back the edited draft for you to complete overnight. Have a nice day; I will see you in class." I let out a sigh of relief as he gets up and walks away. I quick print it out before leaving to go meet up with Rykeir, Harmony and maybe Matt and Shana. I find them sitting on a bench chatting away under a large tree.
"Hey guys, guess what?" Matt looks up with a slight smile, but I notice as I come closer that Shana is not present.
"What?" Matt speaks before noticing my confused look "she is away sick. So tell us, what's up?" I give him a small nod.
"Mr Thompson was quite happy with my assignment for once. He actually said it was going well! He said it might even be worth a B+! I'm so excited! This is the best I have done this whole year!" I'm practically yelling by the time I slide my butt down onto the bench in between Rykeir and Matt. Harmony leaps up and wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me down to her incredible height of 5'1".
"Ahhh...I know...ittts...exciting...but really do you need to strangle me!?" I try and shove her off, but she has activated her death grip. "Harrmony......pleaaase...I would like the chance to breath please." She finally let's go but then wraps her arms around Rykeir's waist
"I'm sorry I'm just so excited for you!" she squeals and starts jumping up and down. The bell rings, cutting off Harmony's screaming.
"Ok, let's go we have Biology first." Matt says as he stands up and starts walking towards class. I will have to remember to mail my letter after school.
