Adam’s POV
She sashayed out of the room and it took all my willpower not to drag her back to the bed and take her, make love to her the way I did two years ago.
Last night, I was outside the bar, anxiously waiting for her. I watched her as she drank alone outside the store, her skin so white and creamy and her face beautiful in all angles.
She never wore make up the same way as she did last night. She'd always been a very simple lady but now, she changed her style, sporting a daring makeup look and dress up like slut. I frowned in distaste as soon as I saw how she had looked like last night. Too much make up and showing too much skin.
I couldn’t hold myself from stalking her as soon as I heard she was back. It felt like a thousand years since the last time I saw her. And when I finally saw her face last night, I couldn't hold back but touch her lightly while she was passed out.
The only reason I came back was her. But when I was ready to take her back, she was gone. I knew I was cruel that day and I regret leaving her behind. I should’ve explained to her everything. But at that time, I didn’t know if there was hope for me.
That day, I found out that I had developed three more personalities. And I was scared as hell. Georgia had also found out from Peter, and they decided to send me to New York to get the proper treatment that I need. She wouldn't let the stakeholders take my position away from me permanently and before that happens Georgia again had her way and sent me to NYC. But more than the position, I wanted to free myself of the disorder that kept me from living a normal life.
Everyday away from Natalia, was a torture. The want of going back to her as a normal-being had driven me to take all the medication and therapies regularly. And after a year, I was finally well. Although the doctor said it might come back again if something from past triggered it. Fortunately, it hadn't happened yet. And I didn't to worry of that but rather do everything in my power to get her back.
I showered and put on a navy-blue suit and a matching blue necktie. I drove to Curtis Holdings and was welcomed by five men, including Carl.
“The contract is ready, sent it over via email. Sab will print a hard copy for you. By the way, I was with Natalia last night.” Carl informed as we entered the elevator.
“Did she ask about me?”
Carl hesitated. “No, Aimee and I tried not to talk about you,”
“Why?”
“Oh, come on, man. You know why,”
We arrived at the 10th floor of the building where my office was situated.
“Aimee invited her over to dinner later. I know I should't invite you but I am."
“Are you sure? Am I welcome?”
“You are most definitely welcome. But I’m not sure about Natalia. You need to take the first step. That is if you want to take her back,”
I entered my office, sat on my swivel chair, and looked at him. “What makes you think I want her back?"
“Don’t you?” Carl eyed me doubtfully. "I'm your bestfriend and I know exactly what's running in your head and your other little head." He teased. "Don't you dare run away again like a coward the same way you did before,"
I flipped through the pages of the contract in front of me and started signing, avoiding the question.
Carl retreated to the door, peeking at me.
“Think with your head and not your little head,” He sneered again before closing the door.
I heaved a sigh. Would she even accept me? Again?
