Natalia’s POV

John laughed the entire drive, smirking and teasing as I narrated what happened earlier.

“You’re a bad ass. Now I feel sorry for the man,”

He parked the car outside the restaurant and turned off the ignition of his car.

“Although I doubt if you really didn’t kiss him back,” He raised an eyebrow.

“Of course not!” My face flamed and he chuckled.

“You can’t lie to me darling.” He clicked his tongue, shaking his head as he climbed out of the car. I followed him inside the restaurant with flushed face.

Aimee was on her feet as soon as she saw us in the entrance.

“I missed you!” She hugged John adoringly, kissing him on both cheeks. “You look more handsome than ever.”

“You look good yourself. I must admit your fashion style improved. You were such an old maid back then.”

He eyed his sister from head to toe. She wore a chick long-sleeved bodycon black dress matched with a pair of stilettos.

“I don’t know if you’re complimenting me or roasting me,”

John chuckled, throwing an arm around Aimee as we walked to the table where Carl was smiling from ear to ear.

The men exchanged pleasantries as John pulled a seat for me. If he hadn’t been gay, I would’ve considered him as a prospect. I hid a smile. If I told him that, he would’ve rolled his eyes and said ew! As if he was never attracted to me once.

I placed my purse behind me and reached for the napkin. John took it from me and placed it on my lap.

“You’re such a sweet gentleman caring for Natalia all the time,” Aimee observed.

I wasn’t special. John was just a gentleman and he just gotten used to taking care of me since we lived together.

“Of course. I was very happy when she moved in with me in Paris. You know I hate cooking, relied on food deliveries and nearby restaurants. She took care of me. This is nothing compared to what she did for me.”

I smiled lovingly at him.
“That’s not true. You did more for me. You know what I meant,”

He smiled back and pinched my cheek adoringly. He really was a gorgeous man like a Greek model.

“You’re such an angel,”

We were interrupted by Carl’s voice.

“Hey, Adam! Here!” He raised his hand, calling his attention.

I turned and instantly frownes when I saw him arms-linked with the woman he was with last night. I quickly turned away. John’s hand found the plane of my back and searched my face.

“You, okay?” He whispered.

I nodded and inhaled.

“We can go if you’re not comfortable,” He offered.

“No, it’s fine.”

Adam and his girlfriend occupied the seat across us.

“Care to introduce us to your friend?” Carl asked Adam.

“I’m Charlotte,” She extended her slender hands to Carl.

"I’m Carl, Adam’s best friend,” he accepted her hand.

“And this is Aimee, my fiancée, her brother John, and his girlfriend, Natalia,”

I gave her a forced smile when she smiled at me.
