I got into my hotel room after the long drive from Boston. I wasn't planning on making this trip but everyone told me I needed to go audition for The Rockettes and make something for myself. I set everything down in the room and decided it was time to take a shower and get to bed. I had an early morning the next day, dance rehearsals and my audition in the afternoon.
I crawled into bed pretty early. The room was silent, dark and warm. Cozy for the winter and I couldn't ask for much more since the winter chill was starting to settle in outside.
I was unaware of the time and I wasn't sure what was happening when I felt someone throw a bag on the bed.
"What the fuck?!" I screamed and threw a pillow at the figure I saw standing at the bed.
"Jesus Christ!" He yelled blocking the pillow. He turned the light on. I saw this man standing in front of me as he just stared at me sitting up in the bed.
"Can I fucking help you?!" I asked pissed off.
"Well, you can kindly get the hell out of my room." The man said.
"Your room?! I think you must be mistaken, this is my room." I said.
"Okay not funny lady I have just flown in from Boston, I'm exhausted and I just want to get some sleep. I don't know if my brother thought this would be a funny joke and get me a girl for the night but I'm exhausted."
"Excuse me? Do you think I'm some kind of escort or prostitute?!" I yelled.
"Well, aren't you?!" He asked and I groaned getting out of bed.
"No! I'm not! I'm staying in this room. I booked this room." I said and he groaned.
"So did I." the man said and I groaned. I finally got a good look at this man now standing in front of me and I knew exactly who he was. I wasn't huge a fan, but he seemed to be everywhere recently and there was no getting away from him.
"Let's just go down to the front desk. They may have given you the wrong key." I said and he groaned but grabbed his bag as I slipped on my tennis shoes and a robe. We got in the elevator, and he turned to look at me as I placed my hair in a ponytail since I knew it was a mess.
"I'm Chris." He said extending his hand and I just looked at him and sighed. I knew he was trying to be nice.
"I know who you are..." I said and shook his hand and he huffed a laugh. "I'm Jen." I said.
We got to the main lobby and walked to the front desk.
"Mr. Evans, Miss Alexander. Problem with your rooms?" The lady at the front desk asked.
"Yeah, we are in the same one!" I said and she looked at us shocked.
"What?" She asked and I sighed.
"Mr. Evans walked into my room under the assumption it is his room." I said and she sighed.
"Oh, we must have given him your spare key by mistake." She said and I looked at Chris.
"See." I said and he groaned. The lady started typing on the computer.
"Oh no..." She whispered. We both looked back at her.
"Oh no! What do you mean by oh no?" Chris asked.
"It seems like we have a slight problem..." She said.
"What problem?!" I asked annoyed.
"We have double booked the room. It looks like around the time you were making your reservation Miss Alexander, Mister Evans was also making his. They double booked you into the same room."
I looked at Chris and he looked at me.
"Okay well, let's just rectify this situation so we can all get back to sleep." I said.
"And some of us get to sleep." Chris added.
"Thats the second half of the uh oh." The lady said.
"Excuse me?" I asked annoyed.
"We have no other rooms open. We are booked up." She said and I groaned. I looked at Chris.
"Can't you go to another hotel?" I asked.
"At 3am?!" Chris asked and I groaned.
"Your still dressed and packed! I'm in my pajamas. Better for you to go!" I said and Chris groaned.
"I'm not going!" Chris said.
"Well neither am I!" I said. I looked back at the lady at the desk. "Do you have a roll away bed or something for the room? Mister Evans can sleep on it." I said and he groaned.
"No, I'm sorry, they are all being used." She said and I sighed.
"So what option do we have?!" Chris asked.
"Unfortunately, either share the room or one of you leave but you both established neither of you are doing the second option. We should have some check outs tomorrow." She said and I sighed.
"How long are you staying?" I asked Chris.
"3 days." He said and I nodded.
"Me too." I said.
"What are we going to do?" I asked.
"I'm really tired and have a busy day tomorrow." Chris said.
"Same here actor boy! I have one of the biggest auditions of my life tomorrow." I said and Chris sighed.
"Me too! I don't have time for this." Chris said and shook my head.
"I'm going to bed, figure this out yourself." I said and walked away to the elevator. I was happy to see one was there, so I quickly got on and closed the door. Once I got back up to my room and was getting situated back in bed when the door opened and closed.
"What the hell Chris?!" I yelled.
"Jen, I'm sorry. I tried calling other hotels. They are booked, no rooms, no rooms here. I need somewhere to sleep. Can't we just share the room for now?" Chris asked and I groaned.
"You know what fine! Take the damn floor." I said. I tossed him a pillow and blanket and he shook his head. He walked to the other size of the king-sized bed, rolled up the blanket and made a long rope almost.
"Don't cross the blanket and I won't but I refuse to sleep on the floor." Chris said.
"Fine, whatever now please get ready for bed. I have a wake-up call at 6am. I need to get my sleep." I said and Chris nodded.
"Fine."
Before he could even come back from getting ready in the bathroom, I was already fast asleep just wanting this to be a horrible dream.
