The three of them walked together, following behind the other members of the Kim Dokja company. The scenarios were over and they had confronted the Most Ancient Dream, it was more so Secretive Plotter and the 999th round did but it was over.
All of them had worked so hard to reach this ending, words weren't enough to show their struggles. The scenarios, star stream, dokaebbies, constellations and every single thing that would never be considered real, was all experienced by them.
But through their struggles, they also had help along the way and everything was a tad less hard when they all had each other. Now, they will be having each other through thick and thin, without having to possibly risk their lives.
Kim Dokja's lips curved up to a big grin, seeing two of his companions bickering for no apparent reason and the kids, who were already planning things ahead to go to the Han River and so on.
"Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" Han Sooyoung asked him and Yoo Joonghyuk turned to him too. Kim Dokja just replied, "I'm just happy, you know? We all survived and now we can live in a world where the apocalypse won't bother us anymore."
Han Sooyoung scoffed and replied with a brash tone, "Agh I don't need to hear all that sappy stuff." though she herself did agree. Yoo Joonghyuk kept his silence and asked Kim Dokja, "You haven't forgotten have you?"
"Hm?" He asked and Han Sooyoung responded in his stead, recieving a glare from Yoo Joonghyuk, "Finding TLS123 you idiot." Kim Dokja gave a nod and said, "Of course! I told you I'd help with that didn't I?"
Han Sooyoung mumbled something under her breath, making Kim Dokja wonder what that was all about.
The train disappeared of to a distance and Kim Dokja looked back one last time, seeing himself, watching with a small smile and mouthing something. It wasn't clear enough for him to see.
The Kim Dokja who was with his companions, gave him a sad smile that showed pity and what seemed to be contempt.
Why did he have to do this? For what reason, did he have to save the world when it wasn't his responsibility? Why did Kim Dokja have to be so.. so responsible?
Why did he have to be the only one to carry the burden of knowing that the actual him was left in the train and he was just an avatar.
He was a coward, he couldn't possible handle responsibility, let alone having to live knowing he was not the Kim Dokja his companions wanted. Were they even his companions? He was a bastard for even thinking about himself in this situation, so very selfish.
He hated the other Kim Dokja for being the ideal version of what the companions wanted, hated him for making a decision that was obviously going to hurt them, hated him for being so ridiculously selfish and selfless.
But he also admired him. He admired how he took risks without hesitation and admired him for being him.
Yet he could only smile and take his place, so that the companions can have a fleeting moment of happiness. He could only apologise to everyone for existing and getting in the way of their happiness. He could only be an improper replacement that didn't feel the same.
Cracks appeared on his smooth and pale skin, almost as though he was breaking ever so silently. He closed his eyes and accepted his fate. Ah, afterall it would be better to just not be there than to deceive them.
Cracks appeared on the train and just as Han Sooyoung and Yoo Joonghyuk turned back to call for him, Kim Dokja disappeared into thin air, leaving nothing but an air of eerie silence.
