As the two of them finally rejoined with one another, during that time back at the capital before Dimitri arrived was Luke. After they separated, Luke went to the other two Hell Gateways to help the Royal Guards fight the Defynors off. They were able to secure the Gateways, but as he helped, the Royal Guards took a liking to him. They requested his further support in this situation and that is when he found Edward and had a gut feeling to tell him to take him and Emil and possibly Dimitri to the Latvia house. Then after they parted ways and Luke made it to the Capital with the Royal Guards, his part of the story begins.
When Luke arrived at the Capital, he was with dozens of Royal Guards that were split from the rest of the Royal Guards that stayed at the gateways. They took Luke all the way to the barracks where they rested and got set up. The barracks were nice. They were made of wood as well as clay to sustain cooling inside. They were spacious, but still tight to keep it controlled for the men. When they entered one of the barracks, the Royal Guards quickly got undressed and headed to the showers for a well deserved clean up. Luke joined them as he hadn’t had a shower in days. The shower was hot and relaxing, but the men were quiet. Not because they were with a random guy or because they were serious, but because of the friends they lost in just a few days. Just being there, Luke could feel the anger that was boiling inside of them.
After the shower, they got dressed up after cleaning their armor as well as got Luke some new gear that matched theirs. He kept his usual gear, but added some of theirs as well. Once they were set up, they headed up to the castle where they were told to go for further orders. They entered a room in the castle where the House King was as well as generals and other higher ups.
“Welcome Royal Guards. I am happy to see that you are still in one piece. I have heard of your fallen brothers and I am sorry for your loss, but you know that isn’t what I called you here for. I have called you here for your next mission. Please General, inform them.” The king finished as he handed the rest to the General.
“Thank you my majesty. Like the King has said, we have another mission that you all will be starting tomorrow. It is a lot to ask of you all, but this is something that can possibly change the tide of the war. You see we got intel that there was an opening in one of the gateways. An opening to an underground area, we have no clue what is inside, but it was one of the gateways that didn’t have a portal.
Instead, it looked like it was connected to wherever those portals are connected through that opening,” the general stopped as he waited to see if anyone had a question.
One of the Royal Guard Captains spoke up, “sorry sir, but wouldn’t that be suicide? We don’t know anything of where they come from and their men are strong enough and are enough to take us out as it is. Imagine if we went down there. What if we all died? Wouldn’t that just have been a waste?”
“We know it is a very big risk, which is why you will not be going alone. In fact, we have prepared two of our finest Entity Soldiers. They will assist you in your finding down there, as well as anything that you may encounter while you are there,” as the general completes his part, the Royal Guards look at each other in concern, but approval.
“Your Majesty, General. We accept your mission,” the captain said as he took a few steps back.
“Very well, I thank you all for your bravery. You all shall head out by two pm tomorrow. You are dismissed,” the king finished as he relaxed himself on his throne.
Luke and the rest of them headed on over to the barracks once more to get prepped for their next mission. When Luke got there, he got his gear and supplies all together just before he rested for the night. The next morning, he woke up to the other men waking up and getting suited up.
