Chapter 19

    As they continued to ride on over to the Hidden Valley, they finally arrived. It was calm and peaceful, there was no bad or no good, it was just nature and all its beauty and glory. They made a small camp at the edge of the Valley where it would be hard to be spotted and they rested for their last ride. That night, Dimitri didn’t have a nightmare or much of a dream, but he heard a quiet voice. He couldn’t hear it, but all he could think was Annabelle. He felt like the voice and the energy was hers, but he couldn’t see her, as if she was gone.

After the night passed, Dimitri and Denis rode to the Latvia House. It was quite far, but they knew if they rode fast enough they could get there before the day ended. In the distance, as they grew closer, Denis was able to see the place for the first time in his life.

“My god rules heaven, It is beautiful. And it is huge.” Denis looked astonished as he saw the place and continued as Dimitri began to smile, “It’s so glorious. How did your people even lose, if you guys had a place like that?”

“Well you see, our people fought for the Goddess and our King. We placed a curse on us. The curse was the strength and determination to fight off the bad, in other words, the darkness below. We placed this curse so we could protect everyone and not be able to harm anyone, but the darkness. So when your people came, they killed soldiers who kneeled to them.” Dimitri stopped and asked, “do you want to know our true name before you forced us to make a new one?”

Denis looked at him with questions and agreed.

“You were called Ancient Guardians. We were the Guardians of the land, killing anything that got anywhere near you before you even knew it existed.” Dimitri smiled and let out a deep breath.

“So that's why after your people fell, everything started to fall apart and the number of monsters grew.”

    In the past, the Ancient Guardians were created as protectors of the Human race from the evil that was driven to destroy them. As time went on, kings began to grow careless of the Guardians because their power grew, but they never knew how much they were actually protected from. The fall of the Ancient Guardians was the fall of the Human Race, until Dimitri became a Royal Mercenary just like all the other people who were by the Latvia house did.

They continued to ride as fast as their horses could until they finally arrived at the beautiful place. Dimitri began to take in its beauty as he felt so at home, after all this time. The two of them walked their horses around, looking for where the other three may have made camp at. As they walked, they got to the courtyard and Dimitri saw the statue and gulped as he began to picture what happened until Denis nudged him on the side. Dimitri looked at Denis, startled, and Denis pointed to light coming from the armory to the right. Dimitri grew a smile and began to walk towards the light with Denis to his right side. As he walked towards, he remembered the armory when he was first titled, he was taken there to be shown the weapons and armor they used as a way for him to learn. Once they opened the door, the two of them saw the three of them sitting together around the fire waiting for their food to cook. When they heard the door, they all jumped up until they saw that it was Dimitri and they all grew huge smiles and ran to embrace him with grateful arms.

“Holy shit, we began to think you were actually dead for good,” as Emil says joyfully to Dimitri back at him.

“Nope, I am all here. Every bit of me,” Dimitri hugs Edward as Luke begins, “where have you been?”

“Just about everywhere, mostly the Capital,” as Dimitri answers, he gave Luke a good hug as well.

“What were you doing there all that time?” Emil sighed giving him a hug after Luke.
