Karasuma's POV:

We arrived at the Ice-cream parlour and got out of the car, I started to walk, but noticed that Irina was not walking, she was standing there, as still as a statue. I went to her and my eyes widen in realization, she was trembling, a panicked expression on her face as she saw too many people around at once. I held her hand slowly, but she did not move, so instead I decided to hug her still getting no response from her.

"Irina? it's alright...relax..."

I broke the hug and looked into her tear filled eyes. I sighed, opening the door to the car and made her sit inside and closed the door, bending down and looking through the window, I asked her.

"Do you want to eat Ice-cream or do you want to go home? I would like it if you enjoyed the ice-cream though..."
I said in a convincing tone, hoping she would agree and she nodded.

"I-I would want to e-enjoy it..."
She said quietly and I sighed in victory, getting the response that I wanted.

"Want to come with me or do you want to stay in the car?
She panicked as soon as I said that, holding my hand through the window, clutching the sleeve of my shirt, her hands trembling at only the word of being left alone.

"N-No! no...d-don't go...I-I'll come with y-you...."

She said in a panicking tone as she unlocked the car door and came out, immediately holding my hand as she looked down, she looked sad, her eyes holding no emotion in them, but still looking sad.

"Shhh...It's okay...."

I squeezed her hand gently and she looked up at me, loosening her grip on my hand as she sighed and we started to walk.
We went to the counter and ordered the Ice-cream, Irina stayed quite and I did not push her to speak. After a while our orders came and we went back to the car, taking our Ice-creams with us.
Irina took a butterscotch Ice-cream and I took a chocolate chip cookie dough.

"Here try!" I said taking a spoonful of my cookie dough to her mouth. She hesitantly looked at me and I gave her a reassuring look as she bit down and started chewing cutely on it.

"D-Do...do you w-want to try m-mine?"

She nervously asked, raising her hand a bit to offer the Ice-cream to me. I smiled at her, thinking how she was speaking a little bit more and that was a progress. I was so caught up in the thought that I didn't answer her, which made her panic.

"S-Sorry...I shouldn't h-have a-asked..."
She started rambling apologies and I held her hand in which she was holding the Ice-cream, stopping her from talking and taking a bite into her Ice-cream, licking my lips, a warm smile formed on my face as I looked at her.

"It tastes really good....you have a nice choice, Irina..."
I looked at her with a soft gaze as her cheeks turned to a faint pink color. She immediately looked down and I chuckled.

"T-Thank you..."

She said as she started to eat her Ice-cream again and I focused on eating my cookie dough.
After a while when we were finished eating, we started driving back to the house as it was almost lunch time. We reached home and we both went inside. I started to go directly to the kitchen to wash my hands and make lunch, but the lunch was already made by Aron. They were both sitting in the garden, drinking coffee and talking about something. In all this I forgot that Irina was still there in the room. I immediately looked at her and there she stood at a corner of the living room, looking confused as she stood there hesitantly clutching the hem of her sweater.

I decided to watch what she would do as she started walking to the couch, but stopped right in front of it and looked around her, then backed away from the couch and stood again where she was standing before, looking down at the ground.
I sighed and went over to her silently walking in a slow pace as to not panic her. I touched her shoulder and she flinched, her head shooting up to look at me. She relaxed a bit as she realized it was me. I held her hand and led her to the couch and sat her down, before kissing her forehead.

"Wait here, I'll bring us food..."

I went over to the kitchen and served two plates of the chicken pasta that was made, coming back to the living room and keeping the plates on the coffee table.

"I-I not hungry..."
She said and I frowned, but remembered that she had an Ice-cream earlier.

"It's okay...eat as much as you can, you have a medicine after that, hmm?"

She nodded and started eating and after eating half a plate she stopped and looked at me, clutching the cutlery in her hand as she hesitated to speak.

"I-I....I can't e-eat m-more...."

She said quietly, looking down on her lap and I placed her plate on the table, grabbing her shoulders and turning her to face my side and I was surprised to see tears in her eyes. As soon as our eyes met she started shaking and crying more.

"What?... What's wrong Irina?"
I panicked, not knowing why she was crying or if it was something I did, before she spoke something unexpected.

"I-I am s-sorry....I d-don't want to b-be a b-bother...."

She chocked on her own words and sobbed, looking down, her hands clutching the sleeves of her sweater as she was trembling.
I quickly hugged her, holding her tightly and started stroking her hair, rubbing her back and shoulder.

"Who said that you are a bother? don't ever think like that again!"
I said quiet firmly and she grabbed my shirt in her hands, pressing her face more against my chest, shaking her head no. I frowned and held her more tightly in my grasp.

"I d-don't want to a-annoy you... you d-do so much f-for me, but I-"

"shhhh, you don't annoy me, why are you even thinking something like that?...Irina, everything's fine...."

I was shocked, how could she even think that I was getting annoyed by her, but her next words were definitely not what I was expecting.

"Why a-are you b-being so nice? y-you used to b-be so in-indifferent...to me...W-What happened...?"

She asked, unexpected fear clear in her tone. I looked down into her teary eyes and tensed up. I didn't know what to answer, she was right, I always used to be ignorant to her, even in the house. I thought she was used to it, but I was definitely wrong. How could someone get used to their spouse continuously ignoring them. I messed everything up really bad...

I was going to caress her cheek and tell her it was not like that, tell her that everything was okay between us, but her expression suddenly changed as if she realized something. There was a hurt expression on her face, her eyes looked sad, showing so much emotion, but the next thing she said broke my heart as she spoke with a hurtful voice.

"A-are you p-pitying m-me?

"W-What?"
