Chapter 18 - Unanswered Questions

Karasuma's Pov:

"who?"

"Sir, her name is Kurahashi Hinano..."

Kurahashi? Why would she be here at this hour? Did Ichika-san tell her anything about Irina? No...wait...Doctors are not supposed to tell a patient's personal information regarding their treatment to anyone....does she know anything? Well even if she does...we just have to deal with it...it might also help Irina take her mind off of the trauma....before also she was the one who told me to save Irina and now she's here, to ask about her....I think things will go fine....

"Sir?"

I was brought out of my thoughts by Rhea and Irina clutched my shirt harder and I looked behind to see a nervous expression on her face, I turned around and caressed her cheek, making her look up at me.

"Don't worry...everything will go fine..."
Irina hesitantly nodded and I looked over to Rhea.

"Rhea, we know her...sorry you had to wait...you both can take your leave..."

"It's no problem sir, please take care..."

"Please inform us if you need anything, sir"
Aron added before leaving and I smiled and nodded.

I went over to the door and was greeted by a happy and cheerful face, orange hair and green eyes, a curious and bubbly look on her face as she looked at me excitedly.

"Karasuma-sensei!! Surprise!!! How are you?"

She asked and her smile grew wider. I smiled at her, warmth spreading inside my heart as I remembered our nostalgic memories from the school times.

"Kurahashi..."

"Where is Irina-sensei? ... Umm....did I come at the wrong time?....I can leave--"

"N-No! Come on in...we were just going to have dinner...Irina is in the living room--"

As soon as I said that I remembered Irina and her not bring used to other people around, I started to worry how she'll react to this. I don't think Kurahashi knows anything about what happened, how do I deal with this?

I look behind to see a confused Irina, looking at me, silently asking about the person at the door, but I just had a panicked expression, thinking how to deal with the situation, which did not go unnoticed by Kurahashi.

"Sensei?"

My head turned to her direction fast and I smiled awkwardly at her, moving aside and letting her come inside the house. She rubbed her hands after blowing warm air on them, pointing out that it gets cold in the evenings.
As soon as we were inside the house, I looked over at Irina nervously and she glanced back at me and started backing away, but stopped as soon as she saw Kurahashi behind me. Irina stood there as still as a statue and I immediately went over to her and grabbed her shoulders, knowing she would be panicked, I could feel her trembling under my hands.

"Irina-sensei!!! Are you well?"

Kurahashi's eyes sparkled as soon as she saw Irina and ran toward her, making Irina panic more. She was going to hug Irina, but Irina suddenly flinched violently and put her hands in front of her as if protecting her from what was coming.

Kurahashi stopped dead in her tracks, eyes widened, her hands still in the air in a hugging position as the gesture could not be completed. She slowly lowered her hands and stood there silently, not moving her eyes from Irina, an uncomfortable and awkward silence surrounding us.
